If reinstated does JJ become a distraction?

Tiger this is exactly my point. I probably didn't articulate it the way you did but this is what we don't need. JL doesn't need to feel like one INT and he's out. I don't care how mentally tough you are that wears people down.

OK...it's time to end the Jefferson man crush here!! The guy is back on the team...great, however as long as lee is performing the way he has been lee is the man, it's his team. If Lee is really really struggling ...then I wouldn't mind seeing jefferson.....but I think now it's last year all over again....except reverse the QB roles.....lee is the man....then jefferson if lee just cant get it done.

Oh and by the way....mett might be worse....lol thats rediculous. The guy has the best form, the strongest arm, the best touch, the only thing he may NOT have right now is the best knowledge of the playbook. There is no way in hell that Mett should not be the man next year...unless he just falls into a coma!!

Oh and by the way......I have all the faith in the world That Les Miles will handle this situation......It's why they pay him 3. whatever mill a year and I support him.......whatever he decides I will still back Coach Miles!!

    Nice post from tigerdroppings memeber:

    Fellow Tiger fans,

[First, JJ has not taken a single snap, yet. He may never take another significant snap again. Perhaps he will simply be the "mop up guy". Or, he may have an actual package of plays. Or, he may have to take over if (Gawd forbid) Lee gets injured.

However, one role he most assuredly WILL play is that of an example of how Les Miles treats players that have contributed to the team, worked in practices, and then made ONE poor decision that leads to a misdemeanor charge. No matter what we think happened, the FACT is he faces a misdemeanor charge for making the dumb choice he made.

Now, if you are a stud athlete (or the father of same) are you not interested in whether or not a guy who has NEVER been in trouble before is totally removed from a team in his SENIOR year given that history?

It really does not matter if JJ was the greatest player ever. Nor, does it matter if he ever starts another game. This guy was never in trouble before.

IF you refuse to allow him back on the team in this case, he loses his senior year. He has played an important role for years, yet does NOT get to go out on Senior Day...does NOT get to hand his mom a rose...does NOT get to receive a ring (SEC?..BCS?). ALL because he faces a misdemeanor.

I'd look very askance at any coach recruiting me or my son if he pulled that.

I support Lee as the starter. I am not concerned that JJ ever take a significant snap. I truly believe he (JJ) makes this team better and stronger in a backup role. But, that is irrelevant to whether or not he deserves to put on that uniform and enjoy this run.

The young man DESERVES the chance to be on the team. He DESERVES the opportunity to hand his mom that rose on the field in Tiger Stadium.

He does NOT deserve snaps. He does NOT deserve a package of plays. But, he does deserve a chance to earn them.

Let us recognize that his charge should not cost him those moments. It very well COULD be used against LSU in recruiting if he is denied them.

IF JJ gets undeserved snaps...complain then. But, Les Miles is not going to just flush a kids entire senior season away on his first stupid choice.

Teammates and RECRUITS will respect and love him for THAT.]-"BlackHelicopterPilot"

I never thought of it this way, I only looked at my own selfish desire to see us win games. Now that I have read this I have a change of heart and think this kid deserves exactly what was said above. I think Les could make this a special season for both of these Tigers who have contributed to this team. Good Luck to both of them. I shook both of their hands and wished them good luck at media day, now I need to stand behind that.:geaux:

It was a well written assessment, and I agree with you.

Like I said ....WHATEVER Coach Miles decides.....I will completely support that decision!! He's earned that from me.

I share the hope that Mett turns out to be a great one. But no matter how good he looks in practice or how highly touted, until he produces on the field its all speculation. College football is littered with the corpses of QBs who were going to be the next great thing.

And the Lee struggling part is a worry. Its not good to think you are walking on eggshells and if you make a single mistake you are benched. Les will earn his pay reintegrating JJ. Keep in mind that if JJ wasn't even in the fight, then its a travesty that his senior season turned out this way.

The biggest difference with Mett as opposed to Lee and Jefferson is that he has proven it on the field......maybe not at the D-1 sec level of play...but he has that collegiate experience comming in....and was very very succesfull. So he has shown glimpses of (shall I dare to say) "greatness". However ...regardless It's not the name on the back of the jersey I pull for......It's the one on the FRONT!!

We now have 2 experienced QBs and a very talented newcomer. What's the problem?

I think it's pretty much settled.

Lee is the Starting QB, and JJ will be used in situations because of his skill set. Further, JJ will be the backup QB if Lee gets hurt.

This is pretty much what I wanted to see, this is pretty much what a lot of you have said you wanted to see. I think this is what the players wanted to see. I think everyone ends up happy in the end.

    - Lee gets to redeem himself as the deserved starter he is.
    - JJ gets to play and contribute to the teams success, and thus is not left out in the cold.

Now .. lets go win the :crystal:
