Apparently not. The reason Bama is #2 is because they are clearly one of the two best teams in the country "BY FAR." So, based on that logic there could have been 4 other undefeated teams and Alabama would still be the second ranked team in the country and going to the BCS Championship. Right?:dis:
Seems plausible. Seems there's no rhyme or reason for how the computers crunch the numbers, and for that matter, how the humans vote. While watching the Selection Show tonight, I believe it was Brad Edwards who said that voters could penalize Okie State for giving up the late TD to Oklahoma. Perhaps I'm taking it out of context; however, based on how this has all played out, it seems likely. :geauxtige
Gaurantee you they were all UA alum and voted that way ensure the gumps got in. Look at both bodies of work and OSU played a tougher schedule with better results.
That's the irony. They'll end up #2 in the end- if they win their bowl game. Better than they would have had they met us/lost to us. Bama losing will drop them.
At less than 9/1000 of a point I think if OSU had beat ISU, Alabama would be booking Sugar Bowl rooms and waiting for autographs a week later.
