And one more thing, when Les is done here, I damn sure hope we don't get some spread em out or read option style coach. There is no form of offense that has just ruined the game more than the read option. I think it's boring and we get too many talentless runners for qb's. that's not fun to watch in my opinion and I will puke and give up on football if LSU goes to that primarily.

I know they have never really been considered big schools, but Briles has proved he could rebuild a team, both with Houston and Baylor. His overall winning percentage is not near the upper tier of college coaches, however I believe he could make a run with the talent level a university like LSU could bring in. He also has experience with recruiting the south.

I don't really care for the read option either. And I wouldn't want to see a gimmicky offense for LSU. I guess it all depends as to what direction the NFL eventually goes. I don't think there is much room for it, because the read option guys seem to sustain more injuries. But before Michael Vick, Cam Newton, RGIII, it was never brought up or tried. Now it seems to be trying to sneak in.

All in, though he may be dead by the time Les's tenure ends.

@red55 It's a shame Rein never got his shot here. It would have been interesting to see how he would have done.

Bellotti, is another spread guy. He had a few 10 win seasons with Oregon. And his record as a head coach there overall isn't bad. Not sure how he would do recruiting the south, but his old boss Rich Brooks might could give him a few pointers.

Remember when Les was hired, Jimbo helped with the North to South transition. Karl Dunbar was the LSU guy that also helped.
