Tebow and The Gators would disagree.

That was a power running game masked as the spread. How did they do after Tebow left?

UF has won 3 games in a row with not passing over 100 yards..

Reminds me of a team I know...

And I don't see anyone criticizing the Gators for that. They were gifted three scores today; twice when SCAR fumbled inside their own 5, and another when they took over on the SCAR 11. They may have scored 44 points, but an offensive juggernaut they're not.

    1) We can't only run the ball, or the run won't work. We have to pass. We won't beat Bama if we can't pass.

    2) If we had Johnny Manzeil, he would probably suck. He's young and is pretty dang good, so that excuse doesn't work for Mettenburger. It has to be something about how we handle QBs.

    3) That said, my wife said Mettenberger looks more interested in playing QB to get tail than to play well. At least he ditched the 'stache.

    4) After the Florida game, I said if we keep playing like we are AND losing, Miles' days should be numbered. But he keeps winning. He's been doing this for years. All that he lacks is a competent passing game and we'd be unstopable. Maybe deep down he has a thing against QBs, the pansy primadonnas they are. Honestly though, there is no excuse for our passing game to be this awful for as long as it has been.

    5) What the hell Brad Wing?

    6) Jeremy Hill for Heisman.

Let's face it Mett is not very good. As hyped coming in, as Josh Booty, and just as bad.

Even Reuben Randle would not have caught any of those pathetic passes.

He is not mobile, he is not accurate, and he can not make decisions fast enough. Other than that he is just fine. :D

    To address the bolded points:

    1) Manziel is a good QB? He had his ass handed to him today, threw 3 game-losing interceptions, and was wearing so much grass on his backside that I was afraid LaSalle was going to light him up and smoke him.

    2) I know you're pissed as hell that Miles keeps winning. That makes me smile.

    1) Manziel looked like the more complete QB. Mettenberger wasn't going up against LSU's D.
1a) We give him credit; he knows how to work the pocket and he does it well. - Eric Reed
1b) Johnny Manziel is a very good quarterback. - Zach Mettenberger
1c) It wasn't fun chasing Manziel all day. We did a good job of it, but it wasn't fun. They had more yards than us. They passed for more and ran for more, but our offense did what they needed to. - Barkevious Mingo
    1d) Manziel - 276yds passing, 27yds rushing, 3ints, 3 sacks (vs LSU D)
    1e) Metenberger - 97yds passing, -7yds rushing, 0 ints, 2 sacks (vs A&M D)

2a) I'm not pissed that Miles is winning, it is nice to win. I give Miles credit for having a knack for winning games, and until that changes, his style is just that (I learned to accept it during the NC season). I mean, Florida and Notre Dame and a slew of other teams are starting to mimic Miles (or Saban), I've heard. He is very intensely managing the QB, which probably isn't the worst thing to do in college football.
2b) I feel like he overly manages the QB and am annoyed that our offense has been bottom of the barrel for years. Our offense is a hot mess, which should be clear to the biggest Miles supporter; it is clear to everyone else. Some of that goes on the players, some on the WRs, some on the OL, a good bit on the QB. But it all goes on the coaches, their playcalls, their coaching of the players, their recruiting of players, their ability to adjust during a game. With a passing game we beat Alabama last year for the NC and probably would have played for more NCs. With a passing game, LSU would be damn near unbeatable.

    3) To suggest that we should focus more on the running game is pretty silly, IMO. A 1D offense will not beat Bama and will struggle all year against every team we play. If there wasn't an opponent on the other side of the ball, I'd be concerned about our offense's ability to pass and catch.

    This...

This kid has a lot of talent but it is still raw...I do not give a shit what he did at that JUCO, right now he is a freshman, starting SEC quarterback in my eyes and it shows glaringly. He shows brief flashes of being a capable QB then turns around and does something totally wrong...

Yesterday his accuracy was abysmal, worst yet.

But he is hanging in there and seems to be managing the offense to some degree. We are 7-1.

Do not know why he is not coming along quicker, can only speculate. Poor coaching...our receivers are not that good...our pass plays are are vanilla and predictable...our Oline is hanging on for dear life and it is affecting our play calling; our RB's are struggling to do what use to come much easier...

Lack of mobility...he just cannot and will not try to gain any yards with his feet. This is something that I do not think is going to change.

I just do not think we are going to get past Bama or the rest of our schedule with Mett alone at QB and mark my words, Miles is going to stick with him for the season. Why can't he come up with some packages for Rob Bolden. If he is going to use Ware in the wildcat then why not use the dual threat QB somehow.

Bottom line, we are 8 games into the season and our offense is pretty bad. And the proverbial brick wall is coming Nov. 3rd.
