All this sounds like false hope to me.

The NCAA takes their sweet time in everything. They're like the military or the jail...you're on their time now. Look at the USC investigation and how long it took. Even deadline stuff like clearinghouse issues seem to happen only at the very last minute. It's as if the NCAA doesn't care if a recruit has to travel across country to go to school...they seem to clear people at the very last second.

I don't think the NCAA cares at all about clearing the UNC players for the marquee game in Atlanta on a timely basis.

Like everyone else though, I hope they're cleared, especially if there's nothing to the story. It'd be a real shame if they're cleared several games into the season.

It would be unfortunate, BUT win or lose, when week 1 is over, It's UNC WHO???

Because all that matters from that point on, is the next team on the schedule.

Besides, if the NCAA releases Little for the Game, PP is going to take him right back out!

Now Austin......He is a monster. But still, its the way the cookie crumbles and if these guys play or not, UNC is going to be tough, Butch Davis is going to bring everything he has and a win wont be easy either way. I dont think there will be a lot of what if's....if we win....maybe a lot more wows!!!.....if we lose

The North Carolina Secretary of State’s office has launched its own investigation about potential misconduct by agents. The state requires agents to register and prohibits them from offering gifts before a contract is signed. Violations can lead to criminal or civil penalties.

The office has sent a letter to the more than 100 agents registered with the state notifying them of the investigation and instructing them not to destroy records, office spokeswoman Liz Proctor said. The Associated Press has obtained a copy of the letter named in it are Austin, Little, safety Deunta Williams, cornerback Kendric Burney and linebackers Bruce Carter and Quan Sturdivant.

Are we down to hoping important players of our opponents aren't eligible to play in order for us to have a better chance at winning?

That smells of desperation and lack of hope for your team.

where did anybody say they hoped UNC's best players were out? It seems to me like everyone in this thread is hoping they play so that we can beat them at their best and UNC, and others, can't make excuses afterwords

Like everyone else in the thread, hope LSU and UNC meet relatively unscathed and we see how good both defenses really are. And what kind of potential our offense might have.

Having reread it, I don't smell lack of hope or desperation at all - in fact, the thread is very supportive of UNC being full strength. Of course there's the ulitmate pragmatist, SabanFan, saying "It's football." And we all know SabanFan is hopeless and desperate. :hihi:
