If Met is struggling and JJ is showing signs of an A&M type performance, I wouldn't be upset.

That's what bothers me. CLM is who gave us that 2 QB garbage last year.

IMO, Lee should have never lost his starting job. The only reason he did was because he went down at the end of the 2008 season after making a slew of rookie mistakes. The 2008 Bowl game just turned out to be one of those "good days" for JJ ... but since then, he keeps the team in limbo regarding which JJ is going to show up, the shining star, or the "who am I again" person. I've never been dissappointed with his "mechanics" .. I'm not a mechanical kind a guy .... it's his "mental game" that bothers me. He didn't seem to learn a thing over the last two years.

My fear is that CLM is going to pull out some "I owe him a chance to compete" b.s. like he did last year. Start some stupid rotation again, so JL loses his confidence and momentum. Further, I don't think we need JJ taking carries away from Ware and Ford. Do you notice how much better they are looking this year?? .. it's because they are the RUNNING BACKS.

I agree with islstl .... situational play only. Lee stays the starter, and if Lee goes down, Mett steps up and gets the prep for next year.

I'd hate it if we lose out on the :crystal: because we are back to a questionable offense.

There is no way Les is going to upset the apple cart if Lee continues to perform as he has so far. The interesting thing to see is what he'll do when Lee struggles at some point in the season. And he will have a bad game sooner or later.

Not necessarily. There is no rule that he must have a "bad" game. Sure, he make a few mistakes, like the last int .. but a few mistakes does not a "bad" game make.

I hope you're right, ...he doesn't rock the apple cart.

As I said on a previous thread, I think we've seen the last of Jordan Jefferson on the field for LSU. You can debate if that's fair to him or not depending on what happens with his legal situation, but why upset the damn strong team we have right now?

Yup, the last couple of years have been very hard to watch, from the mental aspect. I'm not a 'mechanics' person either. You can have all the perfect mechanics in the world but if you can't make a decision, one way or the other, it's not going to do you a damn bit of good.

Either way this kid has gotten a pretty raw deal out of it. I do not think he should start, but he should be placed ahead of Mett on the depth chart. If Lee were to go down, I'd rather the senior out there than Mett.

There are two issues to contend with.
    1. Grand Jury results and whether an indictment is issued.
    2. The story that JJ told Les Miles in his office on the Morning following the alleged incident.

Les will factor both issues into his decision as to whether JJ ever sees the field. Les was deeply hurt when all this came out, and I'm sure he still has these kids on his mind and in his heart. No doubt he will be conflicted, regardless of the outcome of the GJ. Quite an unenviable position, sine the media (pundits) will be all over it.

    This!

It isn't a situation like Shep where JJ has been practicing with the team. Dude has had no contact with the team for a month.

And something else...regarding people suggesting another position for him. He is...no matter what we say about him...a QB. He's never played anything else, at least not since he entered high school. He certainly doesn't have experience as TE or anything else.
