Thus far it appears that Jordan Jefferson's reinstatement is almost a done deal with the "inconclusive" evidences held by the local police, which could be completed as soon as before the Kentucky home game according to his attorney. Nothing against Jordan Jefferson, as I welcome his reinstatement as his teammates probably do. Meanwhile, no one would argue against that the team chemistry is likely to become a concern along with his return. Just caught this topic when I was listening to After Further Review and thought it was worth the effort to be brought up to discussion: If CLM be reasonable and stays with JLee at this point and just lets things play out until change is necessary with the starting QB position, who would you like to see behind JLee as our No.1 backup QB? Would you go with the experience and knowledge of this offense that Jordan Jefferson probably still possesses in his arsenal? Or the incredible talent and potential that Zach M has shown?

PS: Is red shirting JJ a good idea?

If he gets reinstated (and I'm sure he will, given CLM nature of handling situations like this) I think he should redshirt... And be Mettenberger's back up next year:D

Mett as the guy who comes in if Lee were to ever get injured.

JJ's role should simply be as a change of pace within a series (not an entire series) where he gets short yardage and goal line/redzone plays.

I don't want JJ as the primary QB should Lee go down. His windup is still 8 seconds in length.

Depends on the situation. If Lee goes down for an extended period of time I think we go with the guy who would've been the starter. I still like Jefferson being used like Perrilloux in the red zone like Red has mentioned. If we're talking mop-up late in games, I'd go with Mett. Likewise if we're out of SEC title or BCS bowl contention. I do NOT like the idea of redshirting Jefferson and benching Mett for another year.

JJ's role should be as a D.Peterson backup when the TE gets winded.

This could be an option! Have they literally thought about transferring JJ to TE position? I mean, he has no shot to play in the Pro League anyway as a QB. IMO, I don't like the idea of JJ getting red shirt either, as Zach M was promised by CLM to be our starter for the next two years. Red shirting JJ will mess up everything that we designed for Zach M.

To be honest, in my deep heart, I just wish we could remain who we are, that is, without JJ....Shame on myself.:(

You have to go with JJ. Jefferson just like Lee never quit on us, he won some games, made some huge plays for us.

I think JJ sees the field. Just like Red said, JJ will see some snaps for running purposes.

If he is acquitted, I personally believe even if just for the pure sake that we as fans are supportive, the crowd give him a standing ovation when he trots back on to the field at Tiger Stadium, even for mop up duty.

The thing is... the Grand Jury neither 'acquits' nor does it hand down a *verdict* in any way, shape or form. All it does is determine whether there is enough evidence in *their* minds for an indictment and for a trial to result. Grand Juries sometimes are strange ducks; you never know what they'll do (just like with *any* jury).

I think everyone is getting ahead of themselves with all the what-if's and we-shoulds. We just have to wait till tomorrow. If no indictment is issued, the suspensions will be lifted on the two JJ's; the rest is up to CLM, and we just have to trust he'll do the right thing for the team and for the season. I also hope that, regardless of the GJ, this doesn't cause any more distraction(s) for the team and the coaches going into the game this weekend.

One game at a time, boys, one game at a time.
