And honestly, if say that did happen... it made things worse how? Im not for out right benching JJ right now, he's improving regardless of how ugly the play turns out. But doing nothing, changing nothing about an offense that nothing worked in the first 3 quarters... why not? Hell maybe just the change sparks something hell who really knows. Everyone thought we were screwed when Davey got hurt and Mauck came in the first time... look how that all turned out.
Maybe all those pick 6s are behind him, maybe he's matured, worked on things... attended some camps or whatever... but the few throws he's been given so far, he hasn't looked like anything but sharp. Atleast give the dude a chance... otherwise whats the use in having back up QBs? Hell one of the best ever passers in football also holds the mark for the most picked off.

 

Let me see if I understand this. You want Les to make a decision on who plays QB based on what 130 fans on an Internet mesage board think???

 

I've been discussing this as well.

Consider the risk-reward with each QB for the games we cannot win on defense alone (probably Bama & Florida)

Low risk-low reward JJ: we have a low chance of getting blown out, but our chances of winning may be greatly lowered. Much more likely to be sacked than throw an INT.

High risk-high reward Lee: Face it. The guy has learned to forget about what he has done earlier in the game. He has a very quick release and has a cannon. Less likely to be sacked, but more likely to throw an INT.

Completely generalizing these two QBs, JJ is the man for 9 out of our 12 games this year.

However, assuming zero progress from Jefferson from now until the Bama game (which he has not improved since Washington), we will stay in the game with him, but with little chance of winning. He is too afraid to throw an interception.

Lee is far from perfect. Benching JJ could prove to be far more damaging.

If we could just fuse them together, we could have a solid QB.

IF the PLAY CALLING remains the same and Lee is able to put up better numbers then Jefferson in a comparable game...I will quit posting here!!!

So, you're happy with JJ playing? Don't get me wrong, I pull for my Tigers and whoever plays at quarterback. But we play to win games, and JJ is not producing anything...

I'm not going to lay all of our offensive problems at the feet of the QB. A lot of it is coaching and play calling, a lot of it is piss poor blocking by the OL, and a lot of it is attributable to poor play by the QB. Would I like to see Sheppard get some PT? You bet. Would I like to see Lee come in as a change-of-pace QB for a series or two? You bet.

Now that we've lost a game, have an open date, and for the moment are out of the BCSCG picture I would hope that Les and the staff would reevaluate things and perhaps make some changes.

Well, I have the purpose of my posts. I think JJ limited our offense and his position needs to be replaced. And I think JL fits well and could win games for us.

I take JL over JJ in any given day.
