If I were to have told you this two months ago, would you believe me?

A subject bantered about a bit today...

Let's say I said, "JoePa will be on his farewell tour in the fall of 2012" no one would have taken that as news.

But, if I would have told you JoePa, Greg Reid (FSU,) Tyrann, DaRick Rogers (UT,) and Crowell (UGA) were all out of football entirely how many would have believed that?

Hell, I might have convinced all of you that three of the four players were first team All-Americans.

The way this season is beginning, I suspect this is going to be a weird season.

Thats football. Looking back over the years, we were talking the other day about teams playing LSU. Look at the gone Head Coaches from teams, over the years after playing an LSU:
    A&M
    Ohio St.
    Miami
    Penn St.
    Ark.
    N.D.

Looking back over the years, Cholly Mac was the last HC at LSU to make 8 years.

    Weird list.

Two teams, NCAA problems. Two teams, problems dealing with sexual situations. And two teams that were just delusional.

I don't run into very many Aggie fans but those I have talked football with I've yet to hear one admit firing RC Slocum was a HUGE mistake.

Some of the A&M fans I know said, they should have kept Sherman, if the hire was gonna be Kevin Sumlin.

Do you think that has anything to do with race? My impression of Aggies are that they lack diversity. I don't know that their program is at the level of attracting a head coach with a better resume than Sumlin.

Sherman was a decent coach. Now that the Aggies are in the SEC, I want them to stay at a level similar to Miss St. However, I fear that Sumlin can take them up a notch. The Coogs were an offensive machine and seemed to be better coached than almost any other college offense I've ever seen (considering their talent level). Sumlin is an impressive speaker and I've heard him discuss how the A&M offense will have to be different than his UH teams. I could see him improve the recruiting over there and then effectively coach em up.

Race? Far from it. These are coaches that coach with all races. Like I tell people, you never want to get rid of a coach unless you have one good or better than the one you replace. Remember where Kevin started. Best of luck to them, welcome to the SEC, get ready boys.
