I would imagine that they would only be able to do like one small section at a time during the off-seasons. I can't see anywhere else LSU would play. The super dome is the only place close to possible, and even there you are looking at a whole season short 20,000 tickets.

And then if they would redo the whole thing at one time, they couldn't complete it in one year, so you start looking at multiple seasons in the dome. Plus what Okie said about working with tulane for weekends.

Come to think about it, they could close whole sections for a season and rebuild12,000-18,000 seats, and it still hold more than the dome.

It's difficult to say, but under the right circumstances, it might be done in one off-season. If the complex demolition of the old upper deck and recontruction could be done as quickly as it was done, replacing the lower bowl is feasible. As a structure, it will be far less complex to remove and rebuild than the upper decks were.

It would all have to be done at once for economic and logistical reasons. And it would have to be done before any consideration is given to building end zone upper decks. Right now, demolition and construction crews would have both end zones available for access to the lower bowl with big equipment. New end zone upper decks would seriously block access and make the effort impossible.

With both end zones open the work could be done quickly and efficiently. Then end zone upper decks could be considered. But it must be understood that the costs of replacing the lower bowl and building new upper decks would be far higher than just going over to River Road and building a new 100,000+ seat Tiger Stadium. Like Alex Box, a time will come when it will have to be replaced. Around Tiger Stadium's 100th Anniversary in 2024, it may have to be considered.

I'm sure there is a few little league stadiums Tulane could use.
All 16 of their fans plus the visitors could all fit into the 2 bleacher sections at the Montegut field. It might even look like a sell-out for them and improve morale a bit.

    keep 'em coming, folks.

This is not a "random" thread. I made this one with ammo behind it. :)

Next Monday is Aleva's first day on the job and I am going to make a "best of the best" among this thread and give them to him when I see him next Monday. :)

In that case, add more alumni events to fill up sporting events such as B-ball games and the Spring game. Promote the Spring game early and push it to Sat night so encourage all day tailgating.

We have one of the best "swivel-injuneers" in our drinking group that assures us that the entire refurbishment of Tiger Stadium could be easily done offseason in stages, with small contracts replacing portions at a time over about 5 years. The next major project will be the "additional" ring around the upper end zone areas and an upper east end renovation.

Can you close your eyes and imagine 125,000 screaming Tigers on a Saturday night? The noise from exciting plays would be enough to cause the very old folks major heart attacks and involuntary release of bodily substances. We'll need defibrilators and adult diapering stations in each section.
