I'm not sold on the multi story parking garages. UGA has a few of them and for what i've been hearing, stupid drivers make it an even longer and more frustrating exit than when they just had to park farther away. Lets face it. One dufus on the bottom level can ruin the night for everyone above.
I love parking garages. But I am with Clair though, the parking really isnt that bad. You could always just drive to the track or CEBA and have no more than a 10 minute walk. Whether or not your windows get blown out from the heat during your class is another story. I guess parking by Miller is pretty bad at times. My new PMAC would include a side building, the LSU Sports Hall of Fame, which of course would be awesome. You could open it on football gamedays for all to see and tailgate next to.
I'd give game marshals a $20 an hour raise. I already get to see them stretch during the TAF concert in the PMAC. I guess I could bring my DVD camera for those deserving. One word- AWESOME- Seriously I've always thought they should do something with the old dorms but from what I understand it would cost a ton because of all the asbestos abatement involved. The university would have to foot the bill because TAF has no control of original bowl. They paid for and collect revenue from the upper decks and LSU allows them to use and control ticket funds in the lower bowl. We all know the condition of classrooms on campus. They need to fix those first. I'd set aside 2-3000 tickets as single gameday sales. That would get rid of most of the scalpers outside the stadium.
quick question.... what are the old dorm rooms in ts being used for these days? anything? when i was in school, they were art studios. the guy i dated in college had one of them for a studio. they were mostly for the 2d majors. the 3d majors had their studios in the same bldg that we had the kiln yards and foundry. (thats where mine was.)
1. drive a stake through the heart of toonces and make the eye the logo. 2. make the audio portion of the gz a free feed for anyone. 3. expand the video feed on the gz to include fb games. 4. schedule at least one "meaningful" ooc game in fb each year, preferably with another bcs school. 5. politely tell the sga to mind their own freakin business - to let thefb team decide on the field what is a rivalry, not a contrived "look at us we're important" "rivalry" complete with another ugly ass trophy. 6. sit down and talk with coach miles and get to know him as a person, not just a coach.
I think one of the old ones is being torn down in the near future to put up a parking garage for the students living at the LSU dorms. http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me...Parking.Garage.Plans.May.Change-2924219.shtml http://media.www.lsureveille.com/me....Finalizes.Parking.Garage.Plans-3136019.shtml
Unless there's some rooms in better shape, the dorm rooms are pretty much condemned (at least the ones I've seen).
Lots of great suggestions made on this thread. Besides wanting to sit down for a drink with Skip and ask what really went through his mind when he first came to campus for an interview and watched a game, I really like these: This is something we really need to address. On item 4, I would like to see us rotate one of them in every other year - that would be nice. This would be great - there is a lot of history with this game. I jsut wish Fran was still there so I could see his face every year as we beat them. ldskule:
