Losing to Florida this early in the season does not hurt us at all. All we need to do is beat everyone else on our schedule and we have an opportunity to defend the SEC title and possibly go to the BCS title game. As a LSU fan if had to chose a game to lose it would be the Florida game. Seems like when we lose to Florida we only get better. The game is played somewhat early in the season and Florida is usually ranked in the top ten making it hard for the voters to drop us out of the top 10. We still control our own destiny and can and will get better after this loss. I am going to go out on a limb and say Florida losses to Georgia and we beat South Carolina creating a three way tie in the SEC east... LSU beats Alabama to take the lead in the SEC west... Geaux TIGERS!!! Lets get up and make some noise... South Carolina hasn't played a defense like LSU's...

I'd be happy to go 1-11 if our only victory was against Bama.

We all know that is damn near impossible to go undefeated. We did it last year and we were the only team to do so. I think losing a game is the infulstructure of a winning recipe. It can either break a team or make a team. After all it's all about over coming adversity. It's all about getting back up when you get knocked down.

Don't doubt it. I still have nightmares about this past January.

And it was so terrible that if we were 0-6 right now (losses to Towson, North Texas and Idaho?), you're reaction would be,"I'm fine, just as long as we beat 'Bama."

Given the way the schedule plays out for us this year, I agree with BayouBengal. If we had to lose a game, the Florida one is probably best. We lost to a top 10 undefeated team on the road. Now we need to win out.

However the reality that we lost a game to Florida means we have a lot more issues going forward unless things get turned around. But yes, losing to UF doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

#9 this early in the season, with the top 10 sure to be sorting itself out, we definitely control our destiny. Something the kids need to realize.

Where losing to florida really hurts us is not so much record wise, it's more in the recruiting battle, that's where the loss hurts most, there is a lot of talent in Florida and lsu has been going after their share lately, now Florida can say....why we beat them and held them to 200 yard of offense why would you wanna go there?

I think Florida has to worry more about recruiting against Florida State rather than recruiting against LSU. LSU pretty much has the whole state locked down. Not to mention we recruit heavily out of the state of Georgia and Texas....
