It should be noted that Aranda's defenses are known for great LBer play. Not knocking the GA that was promoted but this probably has as much to do with Aranda being the coach as anything.
I see nothing wrong with our OL coach. Dealt a bad hand by Miles and many many injuries along with losing 2 very good tackles to the NFL. You are simply wrong.
Was kinda tongue in cheek with that, but I imagine the ga is providing some degree of help from Aranda to the position group. Sometimes is easier to accomplish things with someone willing to help vs someone who knows everything, especially with a mind like Aranda.
It really is amazing how much of an impact a coach can have on a position group. Think about the coaching talent we have right now. Particularly the front seven coaching. Johnson, O, and Aranda. That's like an all star front seven coaching group. We will truly get to see how much the coaching up is working in the next game!
I said we should entertain the idea, not necessarily get rid of him. Our run blocking looks good, but our pass blocking less so. Many posters here have commented on it during the game threads, so this is hardly just me.
I cannot imagine how great our D will be if Aranda can get his recruits in position. Locking him in is critical at this point, and I thinking locking in Oeaux, sooner rather than later, is key to that!
When Miles was fired I wanted us to make a splash with a big name hire and I still have Tom Herman at the top of my list. That said, if O can win out I think he has to be given the job. If that happens I don't think he will make any wholesale changes to the staff. Aranda is already paying off and whomever is the coach would be nuts not to want him.
