don't know what game you're looking at but, ok, our offense has changed and it's bangin' man! our 4* wide receivers and quarterbacks should all be first rounders. it's nice being in the top 80 offenses in the land year after year.

He didn't say it was successful only that it's changed. Unfortunately thats incorrect. it's the same basic script with different characters along with one puppeteer too stubborn to put down the strings.

I must be watching different games than you because I see the exact same offense we have had for years. The only difference this year is that we don't have a mobile QB stuck in there. It hasn't changed one iota and Les is clearly the man running the show.

When Crowton was here, we got too cute too often. We got away from the I-formation, and the personnel and packages we put in always gave away our play. We ran screens and reverses at the most inopportune times. We attacked the middle of the field too much (which is part of the reason JLee threw so many INTs). It was TOO complicated.

On the flipside, Stud's offense is too simple. We run different versions of about five plays, overwhelmingly out of the I-formation, and an opposing defense can predict what we're about to attempt based on the situation.

Two completely different offenses under two completely different offensive coordinators. Unfortunately, they both suck balls.

Miles is completely responsible for the failures of his subordinates and needs to do some research and make a quality, Chavis-type hire for the offense, and I think he will. He hasn't said it out loud, but you can tell he's frustrated with the lack of performance on that side of the ball.

Les is frustrated we have had to attempt a forward pass in each of our games thus far. He's hoping to fix that after Bama so we never have to pass again against lesser opponents.

He has also convinced most of the fanbase that passing is stupid and a sign of weakness which is understandable since no one can truly recall the last time they've seen one.

and when it doesn't succeed it simply reaffirms that ridiculous notion.

I personally have nothing against passing, when we have the type of team that can pull it off. Passing too much this year has put us behind the chains a good bit. If Mett would have been "as advertised", I'd like to see complete balance every game...225 passing, 225 rushing. Lots of play action. Unfortunately, the few times our QB actually hits a receiver, it gets dropped. When that happens consistently, the pass game is a liability and should only be used situationally to back the DBs off the line.

Dude our head coach is an offensive liability. Let's all just be honest and accept that. The sooner he does the better.

I'm sorry, I just don't see it. And I'll give fault where it's due. It's his fault he stuck with his emergency back-up plan OC coming into this year. It's his fault that his team isn't well-disciplined. It's his fault that he stuck with Crowton long enough to ruin his QBs for the next several seasons. It's his fault he pulled the successful QB in favor of the thug when things weren't going well in Tuscaloosa, but failed to try Lee out in NO. In those ways, you're right, he's not doing our offense any favors.

I thought the Kragthorpe hire was a quality move for him, and for all we know, it could have worked out brilliantly. He was known as a run-first, play-action, balanced pro-style offensive guy that was good at molding QBs. Unfortunately for him first and for the Tiger faithful second, he got sick and it didn't work out. Now's the time to try again.

Theres truth on both sides but miles has his hand on the offense, admittedly. Which everyone should have known. Please don't say he has his hand on the defense. That's like saying spurrier and mike leach run their defense. No they don't.

Miles needs to recuse himself once he finds the guy he deems qualified. And if he doesn't pan out you correct it at the end of the year. But you have to let him do his thing. Miles has proven to be unable to coach offense or develop qbs thus far.

Replace krag if mett continues to suck and find someone who can adapt a gameplan to our personnel that will make our offense successful. No more excuses. That mulligan was used long long ago.

To be fair, I listen to the interviews and the radio shows and everything, and the closest he has come to saying this is when ask directly by a fan if he is involved with the offense. He said "Of course I am, I'm the head coach!" (the implication being that he is involved in everything.) Couple that with other things he's said before: like when we got down to the goal line at the Swamp and the offense got stupid with that ridiculous jump-pass. He went on record saying he didn't understand the playcalling for that series and said that he would have done it differently. This seems to contradict the notion that he calls the plays. Speaking of, when's the last time you saw him with a playcard in his hand on the sidelines? How would he call the plays without having them in front of him?

Everything goes THROUGH him, but it doesn't all originate FROM him.

He just hasn't found the right guy. Crowton did wonders with already-coached-up talent in 2007, and the 2008 offense wasn't bad. It was turnover-prone, but it wasn't bad. His problem was that he couldn't coach up the players, and it eventually cost him his job. Stud was a band-aid that should have been removed at the end of last season. Now the wound is infected and we're gonna need a skin graft. That is Miles' biggest shortcoming...corrections and adjustments are never timely.
