So going back to my point....it was never an issue for the SEC during the BCS era. Might it be now? USC has done more than a decent job with OOC scheduling, can't speak for anyone else. The Pac12 also has a better record of scheduling one more road game than other conferences. I'm just wondering if the "new" system will start to level the playing field because the committee is now taking several factors into consideration and OOC is one of them.
Lol. I didn't figure it would be popular. It just struck me as I watched the coverage yesterday and heard over and over about UDub's weak OOC schedule. It just wasn't a topic during the BCS era among SEC teams. With a 4-team playoff, it's an issue unless you are Bama and your dominance is obvious.
Since we're talking about eyeballs you're probably right. I'm sure it also has to do with which way the wind blows and who is in their ears. Also, I don't totally disagree that OOC should mean something, even for the big bad sec.
Go to an 8 team playoff. The P5 conference champions get automatic bids with three at large spots. That allows a team to get in due to tough schedule and allows a team like Houston last year and W. Michigan this year to at least get consideration.
.... and it'd mostly eliminate the beauty contest we have now,.. we'd finally have an actual big-time College Football Playoffs.
