    That's ridiculous. It's always been about strength of competition. The SEC was deeper and stronger than the PAC during the BCS days. Still is. As much as you can prove these things, anyway.

    Honestly I don't think there should be playoff rankings at all. While some will disagree, I believe the road to the playoffs should go through the conference championships.
