    1. Drama and contribution have nothing to do with one another ie look at your post. You bring drama and you're a contributor. Drama can be handled by something known as moderation. Sounds Crazy but keep an open mind.

    2. If I can afford to race a blown alcohol funny car, I would guess we could come up with 20 bucks. :dis:

    3. Forums shouldnt be free, advertisers should pay for it, members shouldnt. thats what 95% of all other forums do. but thats just my opinion.
    4. I was a contributor here for several years and maybe again. stranger things have happened.

I am curious what drama you are talking about. I didn't mention it or bring it, just gave my opinion on the cost of this forum. Just as you did.

You focus on one part and not the part that obviously applies to you...

Yes, that is an opinion, but apparently not shared by the owner of this site. IMO, he can charge whatever he wants, because it's a free country, and his site. If the market can take it, it will succeed. Apparently, it's doing what he wants, or he will change it.

I don't have an opinion about people that choose to contribute or not. It's irrelevant to me. I do think people should vote with their dollars though. If I conclude one day that $20/year is silly for this site, then I will stop posting here.

Keep the feedback coming folks. It should be evident that anyone and everyone is being encouraged to comment here. Although some of those people should actualy try to give actual suggestions rather than going into long-winded rants.

I think the suggestions already offered up should be enough for management to make an informed decision. In my opinion the site doesnt need much, minor tweaking at best with the addition of some cool front page features and news articles if its doable.

Its pretty obvious that a good many users would like to see a few changes. Rolling back the clock one year would satisfy some but we need a few tweaks in how topics are handled and where they go. The site has changed very little since Ive been here. Its normal to make changes to address your needs when a forum such as this grows. Its just never happened here.

As a side note. I have also been guilty of piling on with some visitors, especially Bama fans. Its easy for me to lose it because I've been in this state for so long and I get tired of the nauseating drone of Bama crap day in and day out. I think we should all make a reasonable effort to be good hosts unless they deserve a chit kickin.

I reserve the right to talk trash to rival posters. Just throwing that out there. I never say anything that I wouldn't say to their faces. It's just good natured ribbing. TF's is an extension of LSU, and as such, we have a tradition to uphold. Nothing mean mind you...we just have to make sure they understand they're not as great as we are. :hihi:

Regulars are excluded from the ridicule...but they have worked hard to become regulars. They have earned their reprieve.

I think some people shouldn't be so condescending to other peoples opinions.

    Oh Snap!

    My two cents:

    1. Tigerforums was once free for everyone. But expenses kept going up and Brett had to add revenue or go the way of the Dodo. Anyone who doesn't understand this is not being realistic. Voluntary Contributions have allowed the forum to prosper. If it ain't broke . . .

    2. TigerForums offers a hell of a lot more perks than many boards do. We are not bombarded with slow-to-load and distracting advertising. We aren't hounded to join a "Premium" forum to get the best LSU news. The main LSU forum is free for everyone. We can upload photos from our own computers and they are stored on a huge server, most boards don't offer this. Nor do most forums offer a search function to let you go through every single post in TF history. Tigerforums rarely gets an "overload" situation. Why? Because Brett has hired top provider technicians and upgraded to bigger servers well in advance of potential problems. None of this is cheap.

    3. Tigerforums offers a niche that is comfortable for many folks. It's not a smack board for flamers nor a rant board for exuberant youth, see TOS for that. It's not a recruiting "insider" board either, those are available elsewhere (at cost) to the recruiting fanatics. TF is a place for open discussion for average LSU fans without the juvenile smack but where a great deal of friendly banter is allowed.

    4. There are rules of order here that are maintained but there is no censorship of opinion. Someone may get in your face for a controversial remark, but you won't be deleted for it. No one has ever been banned for his opinion--only for persistent User Agreement violations.

    5. TigerForums had evolved in the six years I've been around and will no doubt continue to do so. Member input helps and we probably need a regular suggestion box to keep from cluttering up the main boards with such stuff.
