obviously not but it clearly was his suggestion for TF when it was in a slow period or simply the offseason. and of course it isnt a hot tip. that was 5 years ago.
I've been around a while, both on this board and on the planet. I can't add much more to the outstanding posts I've read by Red (although a bit lengthy :lol, The Dude, kcal, Hatcher Tiger, and others. I've been away from Louisiana for 40+ years now. I only have one immediate relative still living in Louisiana. Two things I sorely miss 40+ years later. The food and my beloved Tigers. Thanks to our recent success, I've been able to see the Tigers on TV a hell of a lot more than I did during the dark days of the '90s. Thanks to this forum and others I'm able to stay in touch with what's going on with our Tigers almost as well as if I were still living in Louisiana. As others have so eleoquently stated, this is a mature group of participants. I don't agree with everything that's posted and I'm sure there are some that are prompted to wonder if I'm always playing with a full deck after reading some of my posts. The one constant that always overrides our minor differences is our unconditional love for our Tigers. Finally let me take this opportunity to wish all a joyous holiday season. On second thought, screw political correctness. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and :geauxtige.
Not any more. I had my lsu.edu address for about 2 years after I graduated (in 04), but they changed the policy. Now you can get an alumni.lsu.edu address through the alumni association and it's a windows live account. I think keeping the LSU and college sports areas open for all is good, but I don't mind paying the contributor funds at all if it means I don't have to wade through all the BS that's on most other sites. And I'm a poor graduate student, so anybody complaining about it is just sad. I don't want to look at ads and I'd rather not have to hit a home page everytime either. Articles from posters could go in a sub-forum in the news section maybe?
lol, give us suggestions, but if we dont agree...we'll ban you. most of this was true fwiw. mindy, thats what i figured and i actually remember receiving something about that. thanks.
I don't think a lot should change about TF. I rarely use the LSU News feature, but I think it is a pretty interesting idea. I like the idea of having articles written by TF members. As a proponent of a college football playoff, I'd like to see a playoff / computer rating / prediction formulas / odds / conference realignment / coaching changes / insider information / rumors / stats section. I kind of envision playoff fans of the country uniting and discussing things online and I think it would be cool if TF was a major hub in that conversation. Maybe making user profile pages to be more customizable in the vein of MySpace and increase the social networking potential of this site. I think it would be cool to make a section that would be inviting to fans of many schools.
An exaggeration. Contributions were better than closing the Forum for sure. Someone has to create the content and manage such a page . . . you volunteering? Brett is a busy man and so are most of the mods. How 'bout Claire or CRAWFISH? Gotta be someone that's on top of the scene. I'm 53 and I have mine. Of course, I still work for LSU. I believe you have to give them up when you leave the university, although there is a way that LSU retirees can keep theirs, I think. I'm going to find out soon.
As long as you use it, you don't lose it (or I think that's what the rule is). I think you have to log into PAWS every 3-6 months.
So where is the SECCG thread allowed? I hope the Den, I'd prefer to have all including non-contributors allowed to post... Another suggestion would be a "rumors" page with SEC tidbits.
