Not only a pipe dream, most don't want him. Don't start that shit now. You yourself said the candidate didn't have to be perfect. Herman seems like the next big thing. He seems to be the most viable and qualified. We could do worse. Not sure why. Just because he doesn't have big time experience? Who else is viable that you would like to see?
Herman might be dreaming of Texas but he won't get the job. Word is there is a Brinks armored car headed to Tuscaloosa.
I wish they would just keep miles and force him to be Joe Pa. Bring in Herman or someone of his caliber offensively to be a very well paid OC who has complete control and is named the coach in waiting. Then hire a bang up DC and give him control. All miles does is recruit, speak to the media and continue to motivate, but basically be the King of England. A purely ceremonial role.
I'd like that too but I am afraid it would never work. Herman will have other offers where he wont be the coach in waiting, no doubt.
Herman is not going to take an OC job anywhere. Houston has already offered him $3 million in an attempt to keep him. If all we need is a "King of England why not hire John Goodman of the movie King Ralph
Miles won't go for that. So it's either fire him or deal with LSU playing the way it has the last two seasons, continuing a downward trend.
