I would like to see Chris Garrett win the starting job in 2010

I think we have seen the ceiling of Jefferson and it just isn't good enough.

He will make for a very good backup however.

    Thoughts?

    He might be "the guy".

    QB isn't our biggest problem.

I want 5 hog mollies up front who are ready to dominate whoever's in front of them.

I'm talking about Big Nasties. Physical, punishing offensive lineman that dominate the 4th quarter.

Games are won and lost in the trenches. It all starts up front. I want the meanest, toughest, nastiest offensive line in CFB.

CJ vs JJ will be the talk of the town come the spring game. We will see the first real SEC QB in years when CJ leads one of the teams in the spring game.

He is a big QB with all the FBI you could want and a very nice release. He was late coming on in high school and wasn't that highly regarded.

It's going to be fun and I agree with OP. Love to see a complete QB with the entire play book ready to go.

Won't happen. Miles strongly believes that to win this conference you need a seasoned quarterback. As Mike S says, "Miles has tied his fortunes to Jefferson". If Jefferson improves & turns into a great QB, LSU will succeed. If he doesn't, we're going to continue to be a 9-win team.

Garrett will get his chance, but it won't be next year unless Jefferson gets hurt.

I agree on both the line and JJ's lack of progress. According to Dandy Don the 2 coaches responsible for COACHING these folks are going to be retained for next year. Doesn't make any sense at all does it? It seems to me that Miles holds loyalty to his coaches & friends in very high esteem which in itself is commendable. It's something that used to exist in business and now hasn't been around for at least the last 10 years. However Miles & his coaches make a LOT of money for what they do. In case he hasn't realized it this money is paid for by the taxpayers of Louisiana, alumni donations, and the fans who shell out their hard earned money for tickets. His loyalty should be to them to put the best product he can on the field every year. Our offensive ranking among the 120 BCS schools would be a fireing offense if this were a business due to lack of performance. I think Miles needs to get his loyalties straight.

They've both shown that they can coach. It's one season with a lot of factors.

LSU sports & Les Miles do not take any money from Louisiana taxpayers.

I agree 100%. It seems that the NFL likes that idea too since on average a lineman is the second highest paid player on offense.

The OL for the Saints is amazing and the guard play on that line is as good as it gets.

I think we are weak in the middle of our OL.

It is way too early to say we have seen the ceiling for Jefferson. For all practical purposes this was his freshman year, having only started two games last year. Jamarkus Russell did not come into his own until his sophomore year. Jefferson has shown some improvement during the course of this year, and I expect him to improve more next year. Let's give the guy a chance to prove himself.

I'd like to see an open competition at QB but if GC is retained I think the coaches want more continuity with the offense and will stick with the dual threat, experienced QB. He will get better with more time, the game will slow down for him.
