No .. I'm not being a negatiger. I'm an analysts, and it's just what I do. Yes, we've put up an average of 39 points on everyone, .... not because we have this stellar offense, but mainly because we get great field position from our defense, and the defenses we've faced are for the most part not effective against a power run game, as they are designed to stop the spread. We didnt' win the Bama game with our offense, we beat them with our defense, and that was primarily because Bama tried to run a power game on our D, which is fantastic at stopping the run. But all defenses have weaknesses. It's just finding the magic combo that can break it open. I take into account that Bama has one fantastic defense, and we won't play anyone like that again. But I also take into account that Bama doesn't have a great diverse offense. We put up 6 on Bama in regulation, 3 of which was compliments of Claiborne, Penn State put up 11, and god knows, Penn State has a pathetic offense. Bama put up 6 on us, Oregon and WVU put up 27 and 21. Question is, does one of the High Powered offenses have a good enough defense to hold us back enough to allow thier offense to outscore us. My "negatiger" answer to that is NOT LIKELY. Our Offense as it has been run has been sufficient against the defenses we've faced. Bama was able to take away our bread and butter, but we put some JJ Jam in the mix, that made just enough difference to keep us in the game. But it wasn't a stellar performance that warrants any celebration. And as I said, I don't think it was as much a function of JJ or JL, as much as it was the game plan and the offensive approach. We did not exploit Bama's D. BUT .. in all this realness ... don't think for a moment that I'm not enjoying this season. Heck, I'm estatic. How could I not be .. we are 9-0, and about to be 10-0, and then 11-0. And I suspect, and hope, that we go 12-0, then 13-0 ... then 14-0 with a :crystal:. But that can't take away my natural tendency to analyze everything. Sorry.
every qb has his off games. last years offense was as exciting an watching paint dry. this years offense under lee has been exciting to watch' jj didn't hit on **** most of the time last year if ya'll remember. lee had to bail his ass out a few games to. lee is doing a great job this season and because of him we will win the nat. championship. jj is good in certain situations but when we play teams more offense oriented i'll bet on lee leading us to victory anytime. Aller Tigres! :milesmic::crystal: bound!
Funny how these same "Negative Nancy's" kept pointing towards our offense as the reason we COULDN'T beat Bama UNLESS we scored 60+ points on everyone else but now that we've gotten by Bama with a win, somehow, our offense isn't good enough to put enough points up on the board to beat WKU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, UGA/So.Car and whomever we get in post-season???
