You know what the funnest thing I have ever heard since I have been in? At Sergents Time Training had a 2ndLT step up and say, "Well in 'MY Experience' I think we should do it this way." I thought our plt sgt was gonna lose it.
 I don't think I ever saluted a 2ndLt. If I saw one coming, I would walk the other way just to keep from having too. I never saluted a woman, not once. I would look them in the eye's as I walk by darring them to say something. None ever did. Disgrace. They should teach them in OCS never to say "It's been my experience" or " In school they taught us to do it this way".
Nasty, nasty, nasty. :yelwink2: Luckily, I know my role and I've never been one to say something like, "It's been my experience" because I know I don't know dick, other than the limited knowledge that was fed to me at OCS and TBS. I'll still get on people for not saluting. It's important to keep the E-3's and below abreast of proper military courtesy, while at the same time keeping the NCO's in line so that the junior Marines present don't learn from their nasty habits. You salute the rank, not the man. I won't get into the problems I've had with the Navy side of the house. No offense to the Doc, but some of the squids down here are just horrible when it comes to saluting.
