Good points! None of us really know until it happens. I'd be tickle pink to see us get him, but my experience with our school and state( having worked there for 30 years) is that we will screw it up. I've always been a Les supporter, even have an authentic helmet autographed by him, but we needed to handle last year with class and professionalism and part ways. Administration screwed it up by treating Les and the fan base with disrespect with that three ring circus they put on.

Goodness! Yes, that is a Texas name. I also know two Fords (one is my best friend's oldest son), and this year, I'm teaching a Chet.

Nope, just Fords. Must be a Texas thang.

ETA: I was wrong. I did teach a Dodge a few years ago.

I would have said it was a Detroit thing. Only person I ever heard of with Ford as a first name was Ford Frick, commissioner of MLB from 1951 to 1965. Only Chet I ever heard of was Chet Atkins. He was from Tennessee.

After one game everybody is acting like Charlie Strong's and Kevin Sumlin's jobs are safe. We'll see what happens to them as the season goes along. If they both keep their jobs LSU would be the biggest job available unless USC continues to shit the bed like they did Saturday. Whether Herman is Baton Rouge bound or not depends on whether LSU will open up their checkbook and whether or not they won't fuck it up. I have no confidence they will do either.

I will, sadly, be pulling for UT and aTm to be having just good enough of a season that both of their jobs are safe. We don't need another major program in the same region hunting at the same time.

Even if their jobs are safe for now you never know what might happen. I mentioned USC but anything could happen. A coach at a big time program could leave for the NFL. Urban Meyer could retire again for health reasons. Or drop dead during a game. If Tennessee can't play any better than they did against App State Butch Jones seat could get very hot. Saban could retire.

All true. We just happen to know that both Strong and Sumlin's seats are hot, and it would be tough for us to compete against Texas' money, and since both aTm and UT recruits the same area, I see that as a minus for us if their jobs are open at the same time ours is.
