Short memories, Fans - been there done Fisher. We need to look at an up and comer - I suggest Tom Herman as a candidate. We need some fresh ideas.

Jimbo has the easiest path in the country to a national championship. The SEC West would change his career.

Tom Herman is the hottest young coach out there. He is beating FSU and OU while at Houston!! He is turning that school around in a hurry. He is the clear first choice IMO.

I think Fisher is an upgrade at this stage but not a big one. I was never a big fan when he was here.

If we could get Jimbo at Bama once the Sabanator calls it a career it would make me downright giddy. Of course when we play against one of his teams I might change my mind. Got him scheduled for the opening game next year in Atlanta. But from a distance, he looks like he can handle a balanced offense and his defense shows up and makes adjustments. QB talent is drawn to Tallahassee like a magnet.

If, and that is a big if, they can old Lester we will prob end up with Art Briles. Jimbo is out, Herman is only leaving for another Texas school, so we can scratch those off. If it's not Briles, it will be another chump who got canned at another school or a no name who can't handle the big time. The last sentence said it " will LSU get it right?" The answer is no!

I don't like the fact that he doesn't run a clean program. No big-time program is lily-white and spotless, but I have no desire to be Miami or Florida State. I want to have pride in my alma mater and the program both, not just the program. It may be heresy to some here, but I would rather have a second tier team than be at top if we have a bunch of thugs who get away with everything on the team.

I am all for getting rid of miles but I was not 100% a huge jimbo fan. It would be better than nothing but if we can get Herman ill take that all year.

I don't know why it bothers me so much when people repeat this, but I've looked high and low for a quote from Herman saying that UT is his "dream job" or that he never wants to leave Texas and I haven't found it yet. A year ago, UT fans were wanting to run Strong out of town and one Longhorns beat writer opined that Herman would crawl through broken glass to be the HC at UT. That's where this rumor got it's legs that UT is his dream job. I have no doubt Herman would leave Houston for the UT job and would seriously consider A&M, but there is no evidence he's just waiting for one of the Texas jobs. He'll seriously consider LSU too. The guy is from Ohio. He spent one year as a grad assistant at UT and a few years at minor TX colleges before LEAVING TEXAS for the OC position at Iowa St. He won a NC as OC at tOSU. Seems to me Ohio St would be a bigger draw. The fact is, Strong made the offensive changes Miles refuses to make and Texas looked like a different team against ND. Charlie may be at UT for the long haul. LSU is more attractive a job than A&M if you ask me. LSU would be foolish not to at least try to lure Herman to Baton Rouge.

One of Herman's sons is named Maverick. That sounds like a Texas name.
