As did I, but you can't deny the fact that what USC and Reggie participated in was wrong. Bottom line. That's the funny part.
I dont deny it at all, I choose to turn a deaf ear to it NOW. Kind of like we all did when Collins got caught the first time.
And you can't deny that they were doing what every other major college football program does. USC just got close to getting caught. Funny how we really haven't heard anymore on that whole situation, considering the guy who broke the story is the same guy who guaranteed that the Saints would not draft Reggie Bush and would not return to New Orleans.
How do you not like Reggie Bush? The dude is a rookie, so he is going to make mistakes. But make no mistake about it, the Saints wouldn't be where they are today without him. I've never seen NFL teams gameplan for a rookie like they have done against Bush this year. Payton used him perfectly this year. Bush has also done some good things for New Orleans by donating lots of money and helping out in the community. He's been nothing but a positive since showing up in New Orleans. If taking illegal benefits in college is a reason to dislike a player, then we wouldn't like many players in the NFL.
The bold text above is a pretty big overstatement, but I agree with the rest of the post. Reggie Katrina has been good for the Saints and the city, and should only get better. Payton and Deuce definitely deserve a lot of credit.
Explain. Are you saying it's common to gameplan for a rookie when you have 3 all-pro players (Brees, Horn, Deuce) or are you saying they didn't gameplan for Bush as much as I think?
No, they definitely gameplanned for him. There have been plenty of other rookies that require such attention. Some that immediately pop into mind are Randy Moss, Julius Peppers, and Eric Dickerson. I think Moss is the best example of a rookie requiring tons of attention, but to no avail (not the case with Bush all year), as I think he finished with about 16 TDs and 1500 yards. And that was opposite Cris Carter, and the Vikes went 15-1.
Too bad he won't stay. The BOS at Bama has found a way to get him 4 more years so now he is going there to be tailback for the Tide with Saban as coach. He gets paid for each TD he makes...something like $3 billion per. They have it...I've seen the bank accounts.
