The 2 main reasons for keeping Coach O as head coach are his recruiting ability and his fiery style. We have no idea how another HC would compete against Saban for recruits. I think Coach O would hold his own. I think he'd make a good CEO HC for us. Keep Aranda and load his contract up with incentives and reasons to stay. Go out and get a new OC that will totally overhaul the offense. Recruit and develop better Offensive Lineman and QB's. We're not as far off as some of you people think.
I agree, but would still be looking at available coaches and making inquiries. If i were Alleva I'd make O commit to totally overhauling the offense and hiring a top notch OC. That's if and only if rhe team continues to improve.
Hes had 4 games Sounds like you're upset Les got run off for his shitty offense which you defended forever. Now you're looking to hang O after 4 games bc it still resembled the old offense. Guess what. It is still Les' shitty offense with a few tweaks. Same personnel. Same retread qbs. You should really be questioning how the hell O had this group set records given the long standing shitty philosophy that's infected the program for so long. That was the same group that only threw for 100 yds against Jacksonville St just 3 weeks prior. We struggled against a nick Saban coached team. Who woulda thunk it. They had trouble getting plays in. First game that's happened of the 4 when it's happened les' entire tenure. Yet you think it should all be fixed? Shit takes time to fix homebuoy. Les was here for a long time. Too long in fact just like you wanted. Now you're blaming the interim after a month. That's rich. Now is not the time to attempt to be objective on LSU's offense and HC. That ship has sailed.
I think Orgeron did a pretty smart thing this whole time saying he was going to let the coaches who control the different units run those units. It kind of gives him an excuse in the now as to why this unit or that unit didn't perform. If he gets the job he can't use that excuse much, but now he can definitely make the case he is just playing the hand he was left. Get this team ready for Arkansas and win a game with some offense. Then do the same against UF and A&M and I think the job is his unless LSU can get Herman or Jimbo, because I feel like LSU's brass is thinking it doesn't matter what O does if they can get one of those 2 guys they will hire them. But if they have to settle on someone they may as well just see what O can do with his own staff, recruits, and an offseason. I think the Administration wants Jimbo, he is their target.
I'd hate to give away a rebranded Eaux to get Jimbo and see the latter fail and the former succeed. I hope Eaux makes Alleva's decision hard as hell by winning out, and I hope that a convincing finale is sufficient to convince the brass to keep him. It would be an easily defended decision even if Eaux fails in the future.
not sure who you're confusing me for. I don't recall ever defending his offense (yes i did argue about it when Crowton was here). I defended firing a guy with his record because historically it's been a colossally stupid move by everyone whose ever done that. he quit winning, he's out. plain and simple. i don't want to hang O. i just don't want to hire him as full time head coach.
Losing to Bama hurts and it hurts Coach O's chances. But I think the real predictive games are still on our schedule. We run the table and Coach O stays. If he loses one, then it is a whole different story. Judging him on coaching Les' team picking up in mid season is probably not fair but it is reality.
I don't know about that our d line pushed around their o line. They just were able to make just enough plays to get a few points on the board. This was no blow out
