http://www.espn.com/blog/sec/post/_...will-occupy-opposing-sidelines-in-lsu-alabama Coach O says they are not coaching friends but personal friends--- they are very good friends!!!!!!!
Exactly. Nobody comes in and establishes their own discipline in a matter of weeks. Interim coach vs 9-year HC. Not his offensive recruits, not his staff. Miles left in a cloud...it's crazy to expect Ed to fix it all for the Bama game. Good Lord.
i didn't expect him to beat Bama. and i don't hold the fact that they lost against him. i did expect him to at least have a plan and not duplicate pretty much all the mistakes that led to Miles getting canned. he coached this game almost exactly like Miles has coached it for the last few years. which if he was half as intelligent as people make him out to be would have been on the top of his list of things NOT to do. if he comes out and looks remotely organized, doesn't have issues getting plays called in time, or right personnel on the field, or ridiculous usage of timeouts, runs a few slants, gets Guice and Fournette on field at the same time, etc. and still loses the game, then at least you went down swinging. then you can fall back on the it not being his team excuses. but he didn't. he trotted out the same game plan with the same communication and clock issues that Miles had.
I honestly am not suprised LSU lost last night, but I did think they would win. I felt Bama would win the LOS and have a bit more ball control. I felt like Hurd would make a mistake or two. I did expect Fournette to be held in check for the most part, but bust a good run or two. I also expected Etling to be able to make a few throws in the intermediate level, with the receivers getting YAC.
Lsu has never bagged the big fish in coaching derby. I remember the days when Switzer and Holtz were 'in BR looking for houses.' Anyone think we going to land a whale with Duke Alleva at the helm? Please.
When your offensive line is getting blown off the ball and your QB can't hit open WRs, what are your options. i would have liked to see more quick slants and passes to the TE, but LSU wasn't scoring on that D no matter what plays were called. No coach on the planet was going to come in and in 5 weeks have this offense ready to score on Bama. No one here has a clue if Ensminger would be relaced next year or who would be OC under O next season. Has he said yet what offense he would like to run next season? I'd like to hear him say exactly what changes he would make to the offense before he gets my vote, but Saturday night told nothing more than our OL and QB suck and that our D is really improving.
