I need the CLM apologists to chime in please

Is it really necessary to say THIS about the team and staff?

 

Aren't these the same recruiting services that rates Florida's, Bama's, and every other school's high school prospects? Are their players overrated too? I don't think the players are the issue here and neither do you...

We continue to have to 10, usually top 5 talent, year after year, but fail to achieve top results with them. What's the X factor here?

 

All this talent Miles has recruited the last couple of years has got us what? A 7-8 record over the last 15 sec games.
We are the laughing stock of college football right now so I doubt if anyone would trade staffs with us.

 

I hate to say it (and i may get flamed for it) but we are looking more and more like USC every day. Several years in a row top 5 recruiting and loosing to teams that are, on paper, inferior to us. Just a little irritating.

 

The really funny part is how suprised some of you are. Haven't some of you seen this coming ?? Ohh yeah the ones that did get FLAMED or cute lil one line comments like "You need to stop drinking " or You don't know football " or My favorite when you mention Saban. "bama troll". I have blead Purple n Gold since i was 5yrs old and get my loyalty qusetioned here if I don't blindly think that Miles is a great coach. EVER since he took over as HC his teams have been POOLY COACHED , no discpline . stupid mental mistakes by him and the players HE COACHES . It has gotten worse since 07 .while i LOVE the fact that we won the NC and give Miles all his due , Please remember what HAD TO HAPPEN in order for us to even BE in that NC game , very much a stars and planets aligned kinda thing . I will say that Les Miles is a GREAT recruiter and a very good motivator. There is a very simple way to tell if you are a good coach or a poor one . If you take medicore talent and rise them to a level that they had never achieved , then you are a GOOD coach . If you take a player that has good talent or great talent and they digress or never get any better , especially on a high school or college level , then you are a poor coach . So I ask you which is Miles ? . And on top of that he has made some of the POOREST gametime decitions i've ever seen , and these are not the go for it ones . How about one more question ? do you think that if Pitt lost to WVU that Miles would still be here ? Maybe not

I could have accepted a loss, but the utter incompetence of the ending of the game I cant defend anyone from not wanting Miles gone. While I feel he deserves next year, I honestly think his time is done. Sure he wont the title, won 10 games 4 of 5 seasons. Fact is LSU is on a serious downslide the last tow years. The team hasnt show improvements what so ever. Instead they are regressing. Same as last year. The backers only see things in purple and gold, they can accept this if they want. LSU has momentum, but recruiting will faulter if this keeps up. LSU isnt established like ND, OSU, or USC. WHo can afford some crappy seasons but have been a top tier program for a long time. Truth is the team isnt coached up and the talent isnt used properly. LSU has the talent of a top team. I thank Miles for what he has done but his best is behind him here at LSU. LSU will not win another SEC title with him as coach. There is some young talent out there, Id gladly trade off.

To all the blind, purple and gold backers who act like they know it all. Ive followed LSU since the early 80's and have watched football most of my life. Today was as poor a coaching job as Ive ever seen. If you want to accept undercoaching and this mediocrity be my guess. Id love to be proven wrong but I have zero faith in Miles and staff.

 

The bottom line is simple: the coaching tonight, particularly during the last possession, was abysmal and indefensible.

 

The only voices of reason I've read so far this evening are from Texas Tiger and Stacey-O.

From the earlier post.. I have to question the play calling when we had 1st and 10 from the 32. If we are looking to blame someone or something, then blame whoever didn't put the game in the hands of our kicker....
