The LSU administration isn't going to fire Les IMO. I think they will probably insist that he make some changes in his coaching staff and I would be surprised if Crowton wasn't at the top of the list.

 

Sadly, Red...who at one time was able to actually have football discussion here...has become incapable of discussion. His new job on the forum is to shoot down anybody who questions anything the coaching staff does. If if ain't positive, Red will shoot it down...both guns blazing.

You have always been a Kool-Aid drinker. Miles, I mean Howdy Doody, has been a deer in the headlights since he got here. Just watch, who will want to come here now when they see the idiots running the ship. Suck it up, admit you are wrong, and lets look to 2011 when we will have an new coach.

 

I don't think you give Miles enough credit, he has quality wins over strong Auburn team, and Fla. and Bama. He's got a SEC championship against a good Tenn. team, and a Nat. Championship over Ohio St. His record against equal talent over the 5 seasons has been great. I didn't hear anyone complaining a couple of years ago.

His first coordinator hire was very solid, Bo Pelini, now a successful head coach. His second, Crowton, coached a great offense to a Nat. Championship in 07. Then Miles picked the co defensive coordinators, and that didn't work. To Miles credit, he recognized that and made a change after one season. Chavis is his fourth pick of a coordinator and he seems solid.

Now we come to 08 and 09. The main problem those 2 years is the lack of an above average SEC QB. Lee bombed last year, and JJ tries his best, but he's a true soph, and ranks in the second half of the SEC this year. Perrilloux was supposed to be here those 2 years, we could have seasoned JJ and JL.

I picked this team 9-3, with a better shot at 10-2 than a slip to 8-4. I knew JJ was just a soph, he had 4 competent quarters against Arky his frosh year, and a great first half and a poor second half in the bowl game last year. Some fans thought he'd always play like the first half of the bowl game, I thought he'd play like a true soph that had started 2 games. I think most fans were over optimistic this year, as most picked us to go 10-2.

I have enjoyed the defense this year. Our d line was a bit below recent history, but our back 7 was great.

Our offense has been a disappointment. The o line play was poor early on, but they have come together better. The big problem has been at QB, where indecision has hurt a lot. JJ has the tools, the arm and running ability, but not the decision making. The play calling does not appear to have been helpful.

Les will not be fired 2 years after winning a Nat. Championship. Crowton may, its up to Les.

The end of today's game was poor coaching and poor play by JJ taking a sack when we're just in field goal range. It's frustrating, the big problem was not calling the TO at 26 sec. instead of 9. Do that, and we have a chance to kick a field goal at the end.

 

All I can say is I love my team and I'm very let down at this moment. I am very upset with the coaching and dont understand why they let this happen.:huh:

My wife got me tickets to the Arkansas game which will be the first LSU game I have ever been to. I was hoping for a upbeat game and expierence in Tiger Statium now I'm worried they will give up and play flat like they did vs. LAtech. What do yall think will happen when ar-kansas comes to town?

 

well, i know. i've had my run-ins with the law... but i realized that this season wasn't going to be anything special early on. i just don't understand why the coach can't be questioned. after this season and last, it just seems like there are a lot of questions left unanswered. we're all still LSU fans here regardless of how inane some posters may be.

 

You know I am a pretty avid sports gambler and I follow football handicapping pretty close.
Vegas doesnt set lines based on the performance of one game with a backup QB.
They set games on trends, talent, home field advantage, etc.
Vegas isnt about one game they want to make money, and dont set lines based on a single game. Trust me on this, I am not claiming to be a football expert, but I do watch lines closely. Rankings, etc mean nothing in Vegas.

So I pose the question again. What games has LSU lost that they should have won handily. The experts both in Vegas AND in sports media predicted LSU to lose this game and be exactly who we are. A good team but not a great team. Even before the season.

Look I am dissapointed as everyone else and agree this wasnt Miles finest hour. Firing Miles will only set us back even further. Every team has down year(s). OU is god awful and they were in the Title game last year, USC, UGA go down the list.
I just think everyone needs to relax a little.

Even after watching tonight's game you still post this garbage? Man! What does it take for you to see Miles is a clown? Junior high schools have better coaching much less so called elite college programs.
