I'm watching a documentary on Showtime about the AFL and they just said in the early days of the league, Buffalo Bills fans would bring grills and kegs into the stands for the games.

    Now that's hardcore tailgating.

haha well if they'd let tigers fans bring whatever they wanted into the stadium on saturdays, it'd likely not be standing still. haha.

Without all that stuff the stands would have looked empty. The old AFL had few fans in the early years.

Well, without getting too personal, I had a relative back in the late 80's or early 90's who was so drunk out of his mind that he leaned too far over the upper deck of the south side and fell over the guard rail and landed on several people on the deck below, breaking hips, legs, arms, etc.

That was pre-game festivity drunk, and according to my dad (a former LSU cop), he thinks they weren't allowing alcohol in TS either. I'm guessing they will continue to disallow alcohol because of idiots like this.... and rightfully so, I guess.

LSU's liability insurance will never permit alcohol inside the stadium. It's a big enough problem outside.

i can remember beer being in those plastic cups when i was a kid. this was 86-89 and i swear i saw people buying beer in those cool plastic cups they used to have.

i was 4-7, maybe i didn't realize people were sneaking it in, but i know for sure i saw people drinking beer out of those cups. i know this, because i accidentally drank one and thought it was the grossest thing ever.

    how times have changed.

LSU actually does sell in the stadium in the club section and boxes. A more controlled setting.

However, they had a news special on this the other day and LSU officials said they would sell in Tiger Stadium if other schools within the SEC do so as well. We just won't be the 1st ones.
