Yes. Shep doesn't seem to have the accuracy to be a drop-back passer (yet), which will leave a spot open for someone to fill that role. Couple that with the fact that we seem to be one of the few schools that work the system well, and I don't see why we wouldn't keep running it.

I also see the potential of Shep being in the Slot WR position and put into motion for all types of plays. Direct snaps, flea flickers, reverses, triple options. . .

Now if / when Shep gets his accuracy up and can throw the deep ball well. . .we might drop the 2 QB system. But that won't be next year, and mostlikely won't be 2 years from now either.

Don't forget the "wild tiger" formation. CGC seems to love to mix up his offensive formations. Just instead of murphy running it, Shep and / or Randle will be running it.

I do see LSU moving towards the option style offense though. It's what CGC would have run with RP had he stayed.

I know it's easy to fall in love with Shep's YouTube vids, but I just can't see him being a better runner than Murphy. The only improvement he would bring to the "Wild Tiger" (which, BTW, would simply be the "Pistol" since Shep's a QB) would be his experience and ability to pass the ball.

Both Sheppard and JJ can run and both have a strong arm. I think the coaching staff is looking for a QB that can do both. I think the 2 QB system is more out of necessity than it is what the coaching staff wants.

Then how do you explain the commitment of Chris Garrett? He's a traditional drop back passer.

I don't know if Shep can run better than Murphy or not. But he can pass better, which is why I think putting a traditional drop back passer under center and Shep in the slot position adds the most interesting combination of plays.

A formation of 4 WR's or 3 and a TE, + drop back QB and Scott in the backfield I see as having the most diversity. I suppose if you like, change Scott out for Murphy and you truly have speed, speed, and speed.

One formation will be more for power, while one will be for option plays.

We had that before Hatch went out and I think the team was stronger for it, even if it was more predictable.

You get the best QB's you can and Garrett is a good one, but in Crowtons offense I think they would rather a QB that can also run. Surely you don't think that Miles wants to have a 2 QB system when he says every year he wants one to step up and be THE QB. LSU has had a 2 QB system out of necessity.
