Seemed like he was in the backfield alot. Just need to learn to read which way the play is going so he can be more effective.

I did to. He's a little small, but makes a quick LB. He seemed to be getting in good position and making plays. They said he weighs 206, that's the lightest LB I ever remember hearing about in D1.

You have to be a bad man to give up 100 pounds to an offensive lineman, 50 pounds to a fullback, and 20 pounds to an average tailback.

That's why they call him "Hitman." He's a freakshow.

I like him more at LB. His game is better suited for the position. He is better at attacking, rather than getting back in coverage.

Well, he's bringing the momentum with his speed and he gets to the key spot faster. If he's durable enough to take the hits from those big boys, then he's bad enough.

I see why they moved him to linebacker now. He rarely gets to actually play LB, because our scheme puts him in pass coverage more times than not. At least he has experience.

Ali Highsmith was only around 215-220 at most. Auburn routinely trots out guys in the 205-210 range. It's obviously not ideal LB size but he's got the speed and hitting ability to make it work on this level.

Coleman's speed and agressiveness make him a natural at OLB, but the coaches need to work with him on playing more under control. There were several plays where he had a free shot into the backfield because the play went the other way. With a little more control he could have stepped into the backfield, went down the line and caught the ballcarrier at the line of scrimmage. Instead he went flying 5 yards into the backfield and was out of the play. Now that I think about it, it seems like the biggest criticism people had of HC last season was taking poor angles to the ball. This is more of the same.

:geaux: Just a general comment about the linebackers, but how about that play Perry Riley made in the endzone covering a Husky WR and knocking down the pass. Great play and he had the guy covered like a glove. Big improvement over last year when when it seemed our LB's got burned everytime they covered somebody. Hope it's a sign that our LB's will be a little better in cover situations this year. :LSU231:
