Re: great post We ought to be able to put up some nice offensive numbers against these guys. Run it down their throats, and would like to see some big pass plays and big game for Doucet. :geauxtige
what's with all the negatives? bad feelings? hell, it's not even monday yet. we don't even know the status of all our players yet. where is your FAITH that our team will pull it out no matter what it takes? and don't give me any crap about kentucky. that's just how it went down. they've only let you down once, and you treat them like they piss on your persian rug every day. i read so many of these posts and get the strong feeling that some people want to see GODS on the football field being coached by other DIVINITY. give me (and the Tigers) a break! they're not even pros out there (some of them close to being rookie pros - but not pros). they have good days and bad days and good games and bad games and make good plays and bad plays. it's the way of football - the way of life. i certainly hope the Tigers handle the pressure of #1 and the upcoming arkansas game better than some of these fans. is that what all this doubt and negativity is? people who can't handle the pressure of getting 60/65 #1 votes in the AP? the pressure of the pending SECCG and just maybe the BCSNG? ease up. you don't have to get on the field. imagine. just imagine if you feel anxiety and pressure over the arky game and the post season games, the Tigers must hold it on their shoulders like the weight of the world. they don't need any help worrying about what's to come. you should be sending them positive vibes, not all the negativity. come on, say it with me five times! :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige they can do it. deep down in your Tiger Heart, you know they can. you just have to believe.
Have you guys forgotten where we are playing? We will score 45 on them! Arky is one dimensional, and as soon as we get a lead on them they will fall apart. GEAUX TIGERS! I am more concerned about TN beating KY. I don't like GA's home city advantage.
Dang, that's true. I was thinking that there was a week or something in between. Oh well. Arkansas is a good team--don't forget that. I'm not ready to concede a lost, but LSU needs to make sure it straps up for this game. Arkansas and Ole Miss always play us tough.
Well said, I don't understand the negativity either. LSU is in very good position and in good hands. McFadden will have to have a monster game Friday in our house, and Arky's D will have to step up, neither of which I see happening. We know exactly how Arky is going to come at us, so I don't see them having any special offensive advantage. And contrary to popular belief, Georgia is not unbeatable right now. Kentucky (at best an average takeaway team) made them cough the ball up 4 times and couldn't capitalize. It would be tough sledding in the Georgia Dome, but with all the challenges this team has faced so far, I'm confident that they can overcome the next two.
I'm pretty exicted about playing Friday for many reasons. A win keeps us at #1 in the country, undefeated against the SEC West, undefeated at home again, a win for the seniors in their final home game, etc.... The only concerns I have are that we're not completely healthy...and I'm not sure we'll attack Arkansas' weaknesses. We seem determined to run set plays regardless of the competition. Arkansas could have the worst pass defense in the country and the best run defense and we would still try to run and pass at the same frequency. NOT COMPLAINING...because it's hard to argue when you're #1. I'm just somehat perplexed when we start a game and it's immediately obvious that our opponent can't match our speed outside, so we run up the middle the rest of the game. Maybe it's just me but we seem to waste a lot of first downs and seem to hit a wall when we have a 1st & 10 at our opponents' 30 yard line. It's just amazing how we seem so flat at times and then seem to score at will when we need to. I would love to see the offense control this game and let the defense rest as much as possible. These guys are due for a penalty free day where they just simply control the game from start to finish. It's time for the O-line to take control and win this game. :geauxtige :crystal: :geauxtige ...hopefully :crystal: :crystal:
Guys, (and ladies, of course:hihi: ...and Tiga:shock: ...), I've heard and read a lot about our defense struggling as of late...and how it concerns so many. I can't say it doesn't concern me, too. HOWEVER...our offense...once thought to be the weak point of the team...has taken on a new personality. It is now the leader of this team, and Arky cannot stop it. They may score in bunches, and Run DMC may have 250 yds rushing and another 100 passing...but we will defeat them if this game turns into a shootout. I hope that makes you feel better...I truly believe what I'm typing.:thumb:
