You guys are talking crazy. How dare you think you know more than the coaches do. Les Miles obviously knows what he's doing and has a reason for not using the plethora of talent on his team. :hihi:
They are not that great. It's all about innovation and keeping the defense off balance. It can make your decent Oline look awesome.
Jon Gruden reported on this MNF broadcast how Bill Parcells drafts QBs out of college. He expects a lot: (1) A college graduate (2) A 3-year starter (3) 23 wins Just a quick poll. Who on this board thinks Jordan Jefferson will have that kind of résumé when he's done at LSU? :helmet:
I was thinking the same thing last night. We have the sort of athletes to run this stuff but do we have the will & commitment to do it? Are you listening Les? I think the reason our offense looks so bad and has no "identity" because there is a "wanting" on our offensive side that wants to run the Big 10 stuff. I think Les needs to sit down and think about this real hard. If you will allow us to run the Miami stuff then we are probably set up as well as any team in the country to do so. If not then don't bother to recruit the JJ's, Sheps, and Seastrunks. Just let 'em go since you don't have a clue how to use them or refuse to do so. Bama apparently has the power run philosophy as well and they recruit 220 lb backs and big road grader linemen who can block for them no matter who is stacked in the box. Saban doesn't really care about Shep type QB's at least not to be used as QB's. He gets pocket passers who have a strong arm to go downfield to his very good receivers. We have even better receivers so it would work even better for us. By the way Les picking up Garret at QB was a VERY good move. In your offense he may be perfect. You can either go the way that Miami did or the Big 10 way but admit to yourself which way you want to go and recruit for that system. Don't go for a Shep and then be lost on how to use him so you sit him. It pisses the fans off a BUNCH!
don't know what kind of student JJ is, or what's his major, but all 3 are reachable for him. year 1 as a starter is in the books, year 2 and 3 aren't a lock, but he'll be given every opportunity (barring injuries). he only needs to win 18 more games with 33 to go (maybe more if we go to SEC CG a couple times).
Al Davis used to be one of the best football minds in the world. But the game and the NFL passed him by long ago. Now he's just a rich taskmaster who'd rather lose than let a modern GM take over. I didn't have strong feelings either way about Jamarcus going #1. I understood it because of his physical gifts, but I was also uncertain because of his goofiness and his carelessness, especially in big games. Remember, he went #1 after the season in which he led the LSU offense to 3 points at Auburn and single-handedly lost the game at Florida. (Plus he fumbled the ball away on what turned out to be the game-winning drive vs. Tennessee, though the refs missed the call.) Anyway, Jordan Jefferson needs a lot of coaching and improvement if he's going to be a pro for anybody, much less for Bill Parcells. Right now I just hope he can be good enough to beat Auburn. ldskule:
Did anyone else catch the mid-quarter adjustment Miami made? Ryan had the wildcat somewhat defended so Miami changed to formation to include 2 TE, I think Gruden called it jumbo wildcat. Talk about seeing the game and making major changes on the fly, but again they are pros not a bunch kids.
