The bar has been set extremely low. All around us there are true freshman qb's averaging 250 yards in the air a game. You got running quarterbacks like Blake Sims throwing the football like Joe Namath. What we need is a vertical attack to compliment the ground and pound, it comes from recruiting a pocket qb or adjusting the offense to fit the running qb's.

Bama, Ole Piss, MSU, Arky, Auburn, hell almost all the SEC teams seem to be able to put QB A. in their rotation and get more production from their QBs then we do. The young excuse is getting old, and with the recruits we bring in we should never be losing to the inbred piggies almost every other year, and escape dog fights with them when we do win.
LSU is much better then 2 SECW W's every year, and better then .500 in SEC play on any year. If you can't see that then you need thicker glasses or need to learn football. Happy for you your glad to be middle of the pack, but I and others aren't. LSU hasn't been dominant in yrs, and hasn't won a bowl game in 4 yrs.

WRONG I'm pro Miles and proudly so. That doesn't mean he is faultless and doesn't need to reflect on the state of the program and his handling of it. I wrote after the MSU & Auburn game that he seems to have become complacent in his approach and he needed to regain the fire and demand for excellence the had early on. That is obvious whether one supports him or not.
Why am I pro Miles? Several reasons:
    1) he seems to be a good man and takes a real and paternal interest in his team and subordinates. I would rather have a person like him than Saban, Meyer and so many more WHATEVER THE RECORD. However I believe you can have a great record and be the man Les is. He proved it earlier.
    2) he is a good recruiter of players and coaches. Pretty much all agree on this even the minions.
    3) I like his basic philosophy which is the same as Saban, Harbough et al
    4) He runs a clean program
    5) he has been a winner
I'll give him more of a pass on some of the offensive problems. The Kragthorpe hire really caused chaos. Remember just after he was hired his illness was dianogesed? Who can fault Les for sticking with him and trying to make it work? That was a 4 year tragedy that has to be remembered and accounted for.

That being said the last couple of years has seen a regression in the program. Two years ago saying he won 80% of his games was enough but as has been pointed out he is much lower over the last 3 years and his record in the SECW is poor.
There is validity in the criticism of the QB performance and usage. There is no reason for the lack of competence at that position. It's been 2 years with Cam and Jennings has shown no improvement.
Unlike so many (both minions and pumpers) I don't pretend to know what happens in practice or in coaches meetings or minds. I just know the QB play is not good enough.
Bottom line I believe Les is a very good coach and fits LSU well. He deserves much more respect than he is given here. He also needs to change the direction of the team's performance. LSU should be playing for the SECW every year and the SEC and NC often. He needs to regain the fire and swagger he had when he said Fu*k Bama. If he does that he will be LSU's greatest coach. If he doesn't we'll be looking for the next one.

I think the norm will become 8 or 9 W's a season including the Bowl game unless our HC pulls his head out his ass and figures out how to play consistent offense. Which is fine I guess if you relegate your expectations to that of UT, Vandy, UK, Arky, etc., but this being LSU and the crop of recruits we bring in, 10 wins and contention for the SECW every season should be our minimal expectation level.

Dealing with fan criticism is part of the job description for a SEC head coach. I think next year is a make or break year for Les. Another 8 & 5 year and the heat will become intense in my opinion. Based on our QB performance I'm not overly optimistic for improvement on our W/L record.
