They dropped one of LSU's guys from a 4 star to unrated, then dropped Al Woods from the #1 DT spot. Dropped the average from 3.85 to 3.69... I guess that they wanted to drop the committed guys a bit to make noise about he uncommitted guys. Also, the committed guys are attending less camps, so they dont make as good news stories.
LOL, its not a big deal, we are still getting the same players. I noticed this happened to a few other guys as well. Rivals is still a business after all and players that aren't commited yet are going to get people to come back for more details and updates. We can't cry an anti-LSU conspiracy here unfortunately. But I say we do it anyway. Down with Rivals.
It would be interesting to see if someone did research into this - whether Rivals has a bias of bumping up certain schools' recruits, and/or decreasing all recruits' stars that have committed somewhere. In the end, it won't really matter except for maybe a little media love if our recruits are respected. Other than that, it doesn't mean squat.
I have no idea what is on Rivals or scouts mind when they post these rankings. Do they have an agenda to sell more subscriptions and further it by ranking uncommited guys higher than the commited ones? I have no idea but it seems to be that would be a way of risking their credibility one heck of a lot. And at what psotions would they do it at, they haven't changed all of them? At least this post didn't say they had a vendetta vs LSU. Crabtree did say on the Rivals site last week that he loved McCary at a camp and that his ranking would be going up, never heard anyone gripe about that at the time. I'm sure the guys that rate the players also get to see more and more film on them as well as seeing them in person at camps and should re rank guys if they feel they are better or worse than they originally thought. I'm thinking the biggest problem is that because so many fans are dieng to see rankings so early in the summer that all of the services put out list too early so as to not get trumped by the other services.
I think the timing just sucks. There is no reason to change the rankings at this point outside of the QB's, because of the Elite 11 camp. What has McCoy proved over the past week to say that he is better than Woods? Same with Micah Johnson over Marcus Tillman? I don't think it is just a coincidence that these uncommited players hopped over two commited players.
and who the hell watches 'film' still? these kids werent even born yet so how are they on film. :hihi: :hihi:
