Is there a more senile bastard on TV than Lundquist? Well, maybe Holtz, but since he doesn't cover games, I can just turn him off at will. Thank goodness for the SEC Network because this was the first time we were subjected to ass-kisser Danielson and senile/blind Lundquist. I can still hear him yell, "Oh, NO, it's intercepted!" in '11 when Reid made the play of the year. And being thankful or the SEC Network is saying a lot when one is subjected to Musberger and Palmer for those broadcasts.
he just gets caught up in the moment. he doesnt even know whos playing much less who has the ball. many times you will hear hawthorne get crazy excited on a big play then realize it happened against LSU. its annoying but he does the same thing. because if youre half assed listening you assume we did something good. not always the case. i like danielson in small doses, always liked herbstreit and I can take musberger. palmer is way too intense/serious it seems. still better than cbs as a whole. id also like to smash danny kanell in the face.
I don't listen to Hawthorne, but I know he can drive listeners crazy because he isn't all-world at his job. But, hey, he loves LSU, so I can forgive him, I guess. Musberger doesn't drive me nuts like he used to. 20 years ago, he was much worse, but maybe that was because there were so many announcers that were better than him at the time. Now, he's just about at the top of the list of announcers. Herbstreit is okay, but I feel like he doesn't like us. Of course, Miles made him look like a dufus in the "have a great day" news conference, and then we turned around and emasculated his alma mater in the NCG, so there's that. Palmer is just a douchebag. Nothing more/nothing less.
Also to this end there was one down where the gumps were confused and had durel completely uncovered. They ended up calling a time out but we almost waited for them to get their shit together. We needed to catch them with their pants down there. That almost certainly would have been 7.
