I think it's funny that our LSU Tigers are constantly on their minds. I think their all closet Tiger fans. Maybe SC will change their colors to P&G to cope and feel special.
Not to Bash on the SEC, because you guys know I haven't done that, but there is one thing that the PacX does that no other conference does. We play a full round robin schedule. Every team in the league faces every other team in the league once. Considering how the SEC has its title game, if schools would be willing to drop one OOC game, you could still play two OOC games and every team in your conference, the last week being the same as the title game. With how strong the SEC is, if all the schools played all the other schools for sure every year, it'd be that much more impressive to escape with a perfect 11-0 record in conference. Its easier to lose to the teams you always see after all.
Our schedule is brutal as is ... If all the conferences were as brutal as the Pac 1's I wouldnt mind it at all ... the way its set up now is perfect to me, best of the west vs best of the east
the Big East also plays a round robin. if the SEC were to adopt that schedule, we'd each only get 1 OOC game a year (11 conf foes, 12 games). UGA plays GT every year, meaning we would never again see them play anyone else except for inn a bowl game. Florida plays FSU every year, so unless that changes, they'll never play Miami again (except in a bowl)
Well, I'd rather have a championship game, which basically ensures that you can't win the conference without playing the other strongest team at least once (sometimes twice).
The math doesn't work for conferences with 12 teams. Having only 1 OOC game doesn't allow for enough. Also having a championship game insures some sort of playoff for the conference. The Pac 10, Big 10, Big East should all get 2 more teams and adopt our format. Then only leaving 6 teams standing for a BCS playoff.
The Monday Night Football Pregame crew on ESPN mentioned the celebration by #52 and gave him a hard time about it.
The Big 11 only needs to add one more team. Notre Dame would be a natural fit. The Pac 10 could add BYU and Utah. With the loss of Miami and Virginia Tech the Big Least has already fallen below what I consider a level worthy of being a BCS conference. There are no teams not already affiliated with a power conference that would enhance their status. Just who would they add? Southern Mississippi? Tulane? Miami of Ohio? Toledo?
