Mutiny on offense hasn't happened yet, wait till you get a sub 300 yard offense plus a loss. I called it, I was yelled at, screamed at, but what was obvious to happen has happened. I find it funny really, all I did was tell the delusional fans that the moon was not made out cheese. Rewriting history is futile. You can tell me the moon is made out of cheese all you want. I will smile and laugh at the delusional fanboy.
Backed off, didn't you? And you're still calling it. What you fail to understand is that is that Jefferson's failure DOES NOT VALIDATE your incessant, unremitting call for firing Crowton.
I don't think Lee should START just yet, but he does need to PLAY. Starting him now would put too much weight on his shoulders all at once. I'd have him in there by the third, maybe second, offensive possession. He'd play early and he'd play a lot. Maybe it'd light a fire under Jefferson's butt too. What we are doing now is not gonna get us to where we need to go.:tigereye:
I think the fact that the locker room was dead after a win last night, and Miles felt like he had to remind them that they were 4-0 and still undefeated, says it all. I truly wonder if the offense doesn't just collapse like last year if Lee isn't given a chance to shake things up a bit. Here's the thing about Lee. He made big mistakes last year. He also got extremely unlucky in terms of those mistakes ending in so many pick-sixes. But he can move the team.
It can't possibly be that LSU has a QB who just cannot learn and improve. It MUST be "the man" or "the system". Very familiar argument. Anyway, I still blame both Les and Crowton for refusing to adjust. Tennessee is the PERFECT game to try Lee and see what happens. If they don't give Lee significant PT early in that game, then - as I've said in another thread - they've accepted that only luck will get this team to Atlanta. I've always thought this is a 3 loss team. I'm just frustrated right now because, but for a QB, this is a BCS contending team. I still have a bit of hope that something will break with the passing game - but I can barely see it, and its fading fast... Mettenberger is becoming more and more essential with each crappy play.
Well, they have dumbed down the offense for Jefferson . . . to the point that it is predictable. West Virginia's defense was not confused by anything we did yesterday. They were completely unafraid of any downfield passing threat. On the radio last night, Les said that Jefferson's passing game in practice all week was fantastic. Les . . . championships cannot be won on the practice field, they have to be performed under duress during a game. Jefferson and Lee cannot be compared in practice, they need to be compared under game conditions. Wise up, Les. Play Lee in a game.
You know, that thought ran through my head while trying to find some reason for the apparent stubborn refusal to try something different. Maybe JJ looks so good in practice that the coaches think "OK this is the week that JJ turns it on". Maybe he's just a practice player.
I heard that practice comment, too. :nope: There's an old saying in the military - the enemy gets a vote. Which is why practice is NEVER good enough.
Bandit said it perfectly...you gotta get Lee in there if for no reason than to try and shake things up.
