I am getting pummeled via FaceBook and email by all these damn Gumps coming out from under their rocks. You can say that it is the team and the college, but with this loss, I am taking tremendous heat as a fan...Of course I gave it out, too, but dang I never expected this venom. In hindsight, I may have given out a bit too much during the good times. Alas. My only comeback is that you had a four year breather with us having no qb on our side, wait till next year when we finally have a qb. Pretty lame, but the Gumps are venemous today. Man up my friend. My gump friends are being pretty civil. Almost like they feel sorry for me. I was gracious. They basically said, don't even worry about it. Great season! I think they would've talked more had we at least put up a fight. But that was pathetic. Why pile on?
If Les Miles were a field general in a battle last night, he would have gotten his entire division wiped out to the last man. . . probably by conducting a mass bayonet charge right into entrenched machine gun fire.
I would remind them (and everyone else) it is just a game. And although we are all passionate fans. you win some you lose some. But if they truly create their self identity by a bunch of kids in a game they have no impact in anyway in its result. Well that is kind of sad. Congrats to them, buy your t-shirts, enjoy. I had this very debate with a Bama fan on Bourbon Sunday night.
Gumps being merciful? It was their equivalent of taking a knee--we were that bad! Kudos to your gump friends for having the courtesy to not kick you in the teeth, realizing you'd been gutted the night before. CLM couldn't have coached worse last night than if he were deliberately throwing the game! Plain vanilla game plan; Saban had to have been incredulous when he saw NOTHING WHATSOEVER happening from our O--NOTHING!
Yeah, the best way to blunt it is to be honest about what happened: "yeah, we got our ass-kicked, JJ sucked, the o-line sucked, the coaches sucked and didn't game-plan or adjust properly, the performance was embarrassing and disgraceful. I'm very disappointed that we didn't show up, but we'll be back". I don't think anyone can take issue with that except for a bunch of haha *******s anyway.
