I guess I'm also tired of the name calling and not just coaching staff...with each other. I'm guilty as well, once, and thought better of it later but it was too late to take it back. It's OK to be upset and want to discuss things that happen in games or in interviews but I draw the line at calling a man stupid, dumb, moron or any other name unless I was prepared to say it to his face. Just because I can be anonymous behind a keyboard doesn't give me the right to tear down a person. It's OK to say a play was stupid or that statement was dumb but to attack someone...someone you don't know personally...and call them derogatory names is beyond me.

This team is 8 points away from being number 1 in the nation. A couple of things happen differently, no interception on the first drive, no McCaleb 70 yard touchdown scamper, the BCS is sucking on some LSU wenis today.

I'd say it is an excellent post as well. Putting emotions aside and looking at things differently should give everyone a different perspective on this team. They are no doubt a high quality team with some extremely talented athletes. Do we need a little help and change a few things, sure we do. I think the powers that be see the same things a good many of us here all agree with. Be patient, pull hard for the Tigers. After all, 7 and 1 is nothing to sneeze at.

i'm pleasantly surprised about this. most fans are looking at this loss pretty logically and the same couldn't be said after some wins this year.

i thought the "fire miles" crowd would've been out in full force after waiting 10 mos for a loss.

but other than a few predictable ones, most people have taken this well. losing to saban will make them more grumbly but a win over saban will erase the AU game.

The only thing I blame the coaches for in the game last Saturday was that horrible 4th down effort at the end of the game. How do you take a time out, design the play, and then only 10 players come off the sidelines??? Should have called a 2nd time out right then instead of trying to force a 4th down play when there was obviously confusion (TT lining up on the wrong side, Shep not on the field at all).

Something happened when trying to explain the play that MULTIPLE PLAYERS didn't understand; and I blame the coaches for that.

Other than that, Lee messing up his throwing wrist really hurt us. It forced JJ to take more drives than he should have and we all know what he does with the ball in his hands . . .

I agree with most of what you are saying with the exception of I actually think the gameplan with JJ in was more effective than when JL was in. We were matching them at their own game when we were passing rarely and shoving JJ and Ridley down their throats. As I have pointed out JJ was getting 4.6 yds/carry.

When we switched to a more even balance between running and passing is when our O started to stop being able to move the ball. Which is what the gameplan for the 2nd half was. Had our WR's caught any of the damn balls thrown to them AU wouldn't have been able to key in on the runs to close down the run game. Which is what happened. A point the even the commentators were saying that JJ and JL were asking why can't our WR's make the catches that AU's receivers were.

I know I keep harping on this point, but it is what seriously handcuffed our offense. That and we went away from what was working.

Before Lee hurt his wrist he was 7/10 on passes and was able to move the ball down the field. Let's not forget that JJ was the reason for 7 of Auburn's points with that horrible 1st series passing. He wasn't on point at all during the game (and the WR's didn't help him much either). After Lee got hurt he was able to come in and finish off the drive but could do nothing in the 2nd half after adjustments were made. JJ still got plenty of series in the 2nd half, he just couldn't produce.

WR's dropping some passes was bad; but before the wrist injury JL was able to run a balanced working offense. That was really what tipped the scales in Auburn's favor.

well said (original post), way to stay positive. I took some positive out of this loss also. My frustration now is more at the announcers and the ref's and the..oh yeah stay positive. We hung with, according to the announcers, the greatest player in the history of au. I wished i would have watched the game on mute. If they are crowning cam with a heisman, i think our punt team should be eligible. Our special teams, esp. punt unit, played outstanding.
