No receiver was open. I just watched the replay. Doucet was probably the best option over the middle of the field. Definitely had an inside track on the ball versus Byrd who was totally covered.
Very strange call, that late in the game. Arkansas' d-line was almost as tired as ours, and like iststl said, it's pretty tough to throw from the 2.5 yard line. Flynn stared the WR down through the route, and was dead-set on throwing to him. No other explanation is rational, since the CB had inside position from the beginning of the slant. Probably a bad call and execution. That's why it's best to avoid such situations. Props to Arkansas in OT. That offensive squad is built for those conditions, and they took full advantage of it.
No. If we win next week we can only go to the Sugar. Another LSU vs Notre Dame matchup. Sucks. I'd rather see USC...uhhh maybe not.
I suspect USC will be in the Rose Bowl. Unless Oregon can recover from the loss of Dixon, USC wins the Pac-10, again.
Thanks for verifying, I thought all receivers were covered, the blitz was on, the Arky defense had a blanket on us.
4th and 10 in the 1st overtime...we wouldn't be worried about Hester up the middle or covered receivers for a two point conversion.
