I cannot recall a season as dissapointing as this one. But I still think we have the right person at the helm. Has he made some mistakes this year of course. I live in Dallas which means I have to Tivo the Les Miles show. All year I have heard "We need to get that fixed, this team has poise, we will come out prepared next time, blah blah" I really just once he will say "we didnt play with poise, we have much to fix, we have some serious problems and I will fix it, etc" I dont want to hear a bunch of glad handing. But I still support this coach and will. I am afraid next year will be a rough one as well as new schemes and young players step up. But Les WILL bring improvement to this team. They will get better. Call me a sunshine pumper dont care, but I support this coach and this team it what has been the darkest year in recent memory.
I'm with you, TT, but this game was pretty sad..... Gotta see some big, big changes. Not sure we will. :geaux:
I think you would be foolish if you didnt support Miles but he was very lucky last year with risky calls and it worked out. This year has been an implosion of mistakes, bad breaks, bad calls and poor clock management while allowing a "tude" to develop on the team. He needs to take control of these guys and instill some discipline that is needed as much, if not more, than leadership.
TT, I don't disagree with you. I want CLM to say we stunk or something more than coach speak. It's old. I do think he needs to step up and fire the DC's. Not demote them. Fire them. People are watching CLM to see what he does this off season. We all support this team that's why we are on the board. Some get more frustrated than others (that would be me). We all want the same thing that is for the Tigers to play hard, be disciplined (win or lose) and have a chance in most games. We want our young men to be respectful and good people in the community. I think CLM has brought some of that but the bottomline when you are making 3M a year or 23 M a year you are paid to win games. Let's see what happens this off season. That will speak volumes about what we have.
It was REALLY sad, and I am not obsolving Miles or any coaches in this game, But he didnt commit stupid penalties. Again Miles has work to do no question. they days of LSU winning on Talent are long gone. Next year will be his toughest coaching job he has ever had. He will have to face a VERY disgruntled fan base. But dont get me wrong this has been a year of hard kicks to the shorts no question. It sucks to be us right now. BUT I still think he is the right man to wade us out of this mess. I just hope his pride doesnt prevent him from mixing it up and realizing what he did this year was an utter failure.
I am supportive of him only in the sense that hee better turn this crap around and fast. He better make the necessary changes starting with the defensive coaching staff. That's about as much support as I am willing to give him - at the moment. I am seriously ****ing pissed about this, and I haven't been angry on this forum EVER. What a disaster.
And the fact that he said after every loss that we will correct our mistakes, this team has poise, blah blah blah and the fact that those same mistakes are still a big problem after the last game of the season does not concern you?
Miles needs to cut the crap and be honest with the fans and media. He needs to admit that this team has underachieved and have not played 4 quarters - defense and offense. I understand trying to keep up the morale of the defense, but you don't baby a spoiled bratt. This defense needs to be ripped a new one. And the give up play at the end? Throw the ball! Bluegrass Miracle anyone? 63 yard kick into the howling wind? An appropriate give up call to cap a disappointing season.
It DOES concern me. But he's only saying the things coaches ALWAYS say. Notice he didn't say WHEN the mistakes will be corrected... :geaux:
