It will remain that way until a playoff system is finally put into place.

The NCAA is currently in violation of its own equal access policy, as well as the federal title 9 initiative, because there is a legitimate national championships in place for all the sports that women compete in. No so with NCAA football.

I accept that USC won the "AP Championship" in 2003, and also accept that it was a consolation prize from the media based upon the horror of Oklahoma making it to the BCS NCG, despite losing in their conference championship game. The media was humiliated and hung out to dry by Oklahoma, because they had spent the previous 3 months touting them as the greatest team of all time. They had all the individual trophies, they won by unbelievable margins, and then they screwed the pooch.

Everyone believes that because of an inherent flaw in the selection process, Oklahoma was allowed in, and USC was left out. Nobody disputes LSU's claim to be there except some trojans. But you can't retroactively change rules. Everyone accepted the rules for the 2003 season before any games were played. The appropriate thing would have been accepting the exposed flaw, and correcting it in the next year. This happened, but the media also chose to punish LSU by diminishing our Championship.

What would the media have done if Michigan had won? Would they have crowned Michigan a champion? You know damn well the answer is no. It's hard for me to grasp that I am playing for a championship, when the team I am playing is not. This is more akin to the old system of naming champions, when the #1 team lost to whomever, and the #2 team won over whoever, instead of playing each other.

This is the very thing the BCS was designed to end, and the media threw us back in to the stone age, and for no other reason then to save their stung pride. It's silly, and has created a false "rivalry" between teams that have not met in decades. All at the expense of a couple of fanbases, and purely to cover the asses of a few reporters.

You are entitled to live in your own sad, delusional dream world on this if you so choose.

You do remember that 2003 Oklahoma didn't even win their own conference, instead they got beat down by Kansas State (7-35) in the Big 12 Championship, the game before they played LSU? Not even a retard would agree that Oklahoma deserved a shot at a National Title after that.

Despite the fact that the NCAA official record book agrees that LSU and USC were split champs in 2003 (as well as the major polls the NCAA recognized), to me, it goes even deeper than that...

To me, it's about being a good sport. To me, only a weak, poor sport with an inferiority complex would hide behind the fact that the 2003 BCS NC game claimed that it pitted #1 and #2 together with Oklahoma and LSU, when the reality was that we all knew, and both the Coaches and AP Poll agreed, that it was really a game against #3 Oklahoma.

All this is especially true since, because of the marketing/media hype the BCS NC game gets as a "Superbowl" type event, and all the marketing/media hype the Coaches Poll Trophy gets as a "Superbowl" type trophy, that LSU got most of the glory from average Joe American as the National Champion in 2003. To me, that's pretty disgraceful of LSU fans, when we got much more of the glory, to dog USC's split title with us. Really, to me, LSU fans that deny the LSU/USC split title are an embarrassment to me -- people that I consider poor sports, or people that I consider not that bright, or people that I consider having an inferiority complex regarding LSU (overall or at least just vis-a-vis USC). Not Tiger fans that I brag about.

Both USC and LSU were honored at the White House together as the split National Champs. Both USC and LSU are honored in the NCAA record books as split champs. 2003 was a split title between USC and LSU -- the White House, the NCAA, and just plain, old-fashioned common sense agrees with this. How an LSU fan can deny this is embarrassing to me, especially since we got most of the glory by being in what average Joe American believed was the college football "Superbowl" that year.

If it makes you feel better, I want Ohio State to beat USC in 2008 and 2009. In fact, I want USC to become a mediocre program like what happened to Miami and Florida State. But that has nothing to do with the split title of LSU and USC in 2003 (which was just a simple reality). The reason I don't want to see USC continue to do well is because I just don't like them as much as I like other teams out there. If I could pick who the best teams in the Pac-10 would be, I'd want there to be at least a handful of very strong programs so that playing in the Pac-10 wasn't such an easy route to the National Championship... but the two teams I'd most like to see be the very best in the Pac-10 would be Arizona State and UCLA... also Washington.

Do you ever post anything within context? I mean really? Or do every one of your diatribes stand alone?

Your previous post was riddled with insults for Red and any fan that dare disagree with your view of the 2003 championship. My post only commented on your need to insult. You respond by telling me you want USC to lose and ASU and UCLA to do well??? This has what do to with the price of tea in China??

Do you relate to people in real life the same way?? I mean...REALLY??

So Mr. Insult-Diatribe himself doesn't like seeing insult diatribes. How precious :) Trust me, Red ain't rattled by anything you or I say to him (only SabanFan can do that), he knows he's more wise than most of us, and he knows that, despite the very few off-the-wall ideas he has, that he gets it right more than most of us.

As for LSU, don't fret, the day is coming soon that we will shatter our record at consecutive weeks at #1 in the polls set by the '58-'59 Tigers led by Heisman winner Billy Cannon. Geaux Tigers!!!

the NCAA web page also "recognizes" Oklahoma as a national Champ in '03

    http://www.ncaa.org/champadmin/ia_football_past_champs.html

so it is really poor sportsmanship for you not to recognize it as well.
you're an embarrassment to me as an LSU fan for not recognizing it. Why do you have such an inferiority complex? So much of a complex that you think "only a retard" would think OU had a chance?

You know, you're either a harmless doofus just trying to pick a fight with me to get attention . . . :insane:

Or you're the absolute biggest University of Southern California ass-kisser since tiga.

    Both, I imagine.
