I can't disagree.... As bad as I want a shot at a NC, I want just a badly to silence the ****s, once again.
Well the Boise match up won't happen... The only way I see one of us getting a shot at Boise is if Ok st or Stanford lose two games.
We have a lot in common now. First of all, WGAS what those people say about our offenses or chances to beat Stanford or Okie St.? We all know better. Not worried about them. Either of us would crush the both of them. From that standpoint, of course you deserve a rematch. But I don't want it. We played Alabama and won. Next. I'd rather crush a wannabe coming out of these other conferences. LSU, in the last 10 years, has destroyed the best of each conference. Where else do we go? Some say Boise. Some say rematch with 'Bama. I say whomever. Bring it on. Bama is probably the only team who can beat us. That's true. But, been there done that. So from an LSU fan's point-of-view, why should we do that again? I totally understand and agree with the Alabama point-of-view on this. I'll just settle back and see where the chips fall. We still have to get past Arky and the SECCG if we make it there. Late....
My only problem with this is that if things were to play out this way (we win out and face Bama in the Dome) and Bama did win a close game. Then we each have one loss (Bama's coming at home) But we have one more win. How could anyone say Bama was a true champion?
I"m not saying our offenses are "good" .. they just aren't the superpowers. Imagine what yours or our offenses would look like with an Andrew Luck at QB. .. or even a Tyler Wilson at QB, with Alshon Jeffreys as the WR or Broyles. Granted, we have RR, but we don't have the QB that can exploit his talent like a Jones, or Luck, or even a Wilson or Bray.
Florida lost to Ole Miss in 2008 before winning the National Championship, but no one had any issues calling them the National Champs then...
But the difference is, we have the rest of the personnel... You can have Aaron Rodgers at the helm with no offensive line, and no legit running game, and no consistent receiving threats, and it just ain't gonna matter. Our offenses create balance through physical strength, and athleticism throughout the entire offensive unit. This creates dominant run games that wear teams down, and thus creates balance through the air as well. I personally will take that over what they have, any day...
Apples and oranges, bra. FU and Ole Miss did not play for the national championship later in the same year. Unlike LSU and Ole Miss in the 1960 Sugar Bowl.
