dude, you are not alone in your frustrations with fan expectations and responses. many of us want to get back to just enjoying Tiger football for what it is, and not focus on every mistake, or second guess every play called. it is why i posted at the start of the season, "6 steps to enjoying Tiger football this year". having said that, you cannot lose your focus and forget your patronage to the common thread we all have here. we are all blessed to bleed purple and gold, and be LSU football fans for life! you need to get back to continuity in your support, and avoid too many ups and downs with your emotions. its okay to be passionate, but in a controlled way. in other words, quit being a puss about it, and just enjoy being a fan of one of the greatest college teams out there.

oh, and quit talking to people about LSU football if you don't like what others are saying. it's simple really.

how does the comment above my avatar effect the content of this response? truth be told, i haven't gotten around to changing that since about this time last season. having said that, can i not enjoy lsu football this year by not getting caught up in all of the criticisms of the team and yet still have an opinion of how unimpressive our offense has been? one does not preclude the other. i am just choosing not to focus on the negatives of the offense too much, but rather am focusing on the positives and enjoying our outstanding defense, overall record, and current overall national standing.

 

Saying we need to focus on the positive then sporting a negative sign...? Nothing wrong with doing it but to do it while preaching against it is kind of hypocritical don't you think?

 

no, i don't.

to be clear, i was simply saying for Cliff to not be so up and down emotionally, and not to abandon his support b/c of what he perceives as a focus on negativity and complaining. i don't like it either. it does not mean my support is not without criticism, but I would never boo our Tigers (one of the things CLM has publicly been baffled by) and I try to balance any criticisms with positive posts, i.e. say what you are frustrated by, then move on and focus on positives. the statement in my avatar was placed there over a year ago, and i vowed to myself to change it when we changed OCs. did not realize it would effect perception in a specific single post in which i am responding.
