I am here to start the American party.

It is based on common sense and doing what is best for America.

Ised to call my self a Republican but now i dont say indepent or anything but i am an American and want what is best for my country in all things.

Maybe i am out of touch but our country has been sold to the rich and to special interest representing other countries and crooks.

We have to take it back with people of moral charachter that cares more about this country than getting rich off of it.

Quit giving other countries like Egypt 1 billion of our hard earned taxes and let them fend for themselves.

When you buy a friend is it really a friend or someone only on your side because of money. Then they take the money for granted and dont respect you.

Bring some common sense back to dealings with other countries. We must get our financial house in order. we are spending money we dont have. geesh i cant imagine why we are broke because of all the interest we are paying.

Do Rep. and Dems realize if we didnt owe any money that interest money could be spent to help create jobs.

I understand we cant just ignore what is going on in the world like clinton did and let millions of people die in bosnia and serbia and then go around and preach human rights to the rest of us. Just like the idiot George Bush firing all the iraq soldiers so they turned against us and started attacking us instead of helping keep control of their country and giving it back to them.

I wonder why the Muslims hate us. Because we preach out of both sides of our mouth.

Just be honest. Common sense is in short supply in Washington. You want to create jobs in America. I know how. Stop ytalking free trade and setting up trade agreements where America is at a disadvantage.

We dont even grow cotton in this country anymore? Do people know why?

There is no textile industry to sell it to. Enjoy your cheap clothes america. Because it keeps chinese people in jobs.

Do you know why we dont have a steel industry anymore?

Because we allowed Japan and China to dump cheap steel.

Our New Bay Bridge ( San Fran ) is having steel made in china and shipped over. That could have been american jobs but when the chinese special interest buys our politicians to vote for trade issues that favor them it kills American Jobs.

I dont have anything against China or Japan or Mexico. But damn it America comes first.

    America comes first.

Maybe that is too simplified but i just want what is best for Americans of all races, age, and economic status. Have all Americans pay a fair tax because we are all in this together. Rich people with their loopholes and the corruption of our government must be addrressed.

I am fed up with the choices we are given for President. I laugh at people that think we honestly have a choice in this election.

Yes we have a choice ! It is between Really Bad and Really Bad.

    God Help us.

Flag waving nationalism is primitive. Chinese people need jobs too.

I'm with you on a moderate, pragmatic third party. But I think you are way pessimistic about America and have some facts wrong.

The best thing we can do to fix this is to outlaw lobbyists. Wealthy special interests have long been able to buy politicians and now Super-PACs can buy elections. There is nothing in the Constitution about lobbyists coming between a politician and his constituents. Let the special interests lobby the public and we'll tell out politicians what to do.

It depends. We learned from the British 100 years ago that it is easier, cheaper, and more dependable to bribe third world countries to get our way than to threaten, intimidate, and ultimately invade and occupy them. We must compete with wealthy enemies like China who is spreading a lot of money around.

Dude, Clinton allowed the Europeans to handle their own affairs until they proved incompetent and then we went into Bosnia and settled the situation and then we left. He won the war with Serbia with airpower alone and without a single US casualty. He backed North Korea down. He got us out of Somalia where the people we were trying to help shit all over us. He eliminated Iranian WMDs with no-fly zones and inspectors on the ground. He tried to kill bin Ladin twice with cruise missile strikes years before 9/11. he sent troops to stabilize Haiti which was on the verge of anarchy.

Easier said than done. China and other international traders don't have to cooperate with us. There is a give and take. We take advantage of our international military reach all of the time. China takes advantage of its cheap labor.

Nonsense. America produces about 17 billion bales of cotton a year and is the world's largest exporter of cotton. China is the worlds largest importer. We make a lot of money selling cotton to China and India.

Likewise America has a steel industry. We produce 86 billion tons a year and are the third largest steel producer in the world.

Has it ever been different? We must accept that the post-WWII situation where America was overwhelmingly the biggest and most powerful nation at everything is over. Other countries have blossomed and taken away a few things that we once led at. But we still lead in most things, are still the biggest economy, and by far the post influential and power country the planet has ever known.

Indeed. And corporations are NOT people.

Until the electoral college is done away with, a third party will never be able to emerge.

People just need to realize that our American companies make life better for so many other countries but this so called "outsourcing" and it also makes our goods cheaper for us here.

    It isn't a bad thing.

well red i know that is the typical response to giving other countries money but how well did that work out for the british.

they dominated the world once. now they cant beat faulklands without our help.

Man our steel industry is a ok. Thats why we buy our steel abroad and us steel in bethlehim is a casino now. tell those people how well our steel industry is doing when our own government goes to china for big projects.

    Cheapest isnt always the best.

Have you bought a rockem sockem robot toy new in the store lately.

Better play it fast cause it will break on you the first day. but its cheap.

And if you guys think cotton is produced in the same amounts as before then you are not living in the real world.

I challenge you to go to a department store and find 10 things made in america. better be prepared to spend the day there.

But keep saying how everything is just fine.

Right up until the time they outsorce your job.

I didnt see you mention our little debt issue we have going red.

You cant have free trade when the country your dealing with does not have the same standard of living and pay there workers the same and same standards of safety and labor laws.

The company i used to work for had certain chemicals made in mexico because it would cost too much to make them here with the environmental laws. Mexico didnt have that same standard. Do you care about our environment at all. Well Mexico employs workers to make those chems that are not as protected safety wise and they dont have the regulations we do. But the people who want those chemicals sure do benefit. And hey its free trade. Wooopieeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

    Love that nafta.

Hows that drinking water in the rio grande.

Splendidly. It made themthe first superpower. Two World Wars bankrupted them, another lesson we should learn.

Of course the old rust-belt steel mills are out of commission. There are over 100 years old and part of 20th Century America. But new steel mills with new technology that competes with cheap overseas steel is still booming. Nucor is building one in Louisiana right now and its not the first steel mill in Louisiana. The USA is the 3rd biggest steel producer and is competitive.

    Uhhhh, OK.

You know, I wish I still had my Rock'em Sock'em robot from 1966. It would bring 100 bucls on Ebay today. But guess what? I broke it in 1966! They are plastic, Dude.

You know, America once produce more buggy whips than any country in the world. But times change and trade evolves. Synthetic fibers have taken away a lot of the market. Plus in America, corn ethanol subsidies have made many farmers switch from cotton production to corn.

I did it in a Walgreens in 3 minutes.

Everything is imperfect and horrible . . . except compared to any other country.

    What about it?

My God. The world is coming to an end. Where is my tinfoil helmet!

Seriously Calco, we do need a third party. But the US is not falling apart. The opposition in election years always plays up the sky is falling rhetoric. But in truth we have a lot going for us and nobody is doing any better.

ill buy some rio grande water and send it to you. You can pour it on any plants you have and see how long it takes them to die.

And if you bought a plastic rockem sockem in 1966 it would have been made out of steel. That one is probably still around somewhere still working.

Go to the toy store and see where the one they sell today is from.

I didnt say drug store red i said depatment store. You might find some furniture and items like that.

Great since we have no problems in this country everything is great. Ill shut up and let you tell me how great things are going.

Lets see if your grandkids feel the same way when they beg china for scraps.

do you realize as the debt grows bigger it takes more of our resources to pay it which means at some point we could be using that interest money to be helping our economy instead of paying interest.

You speak of the USA like it is advancing and dealing with problems straight on.

Yes as of today this is a still a great country but it is slowly falling behind.

We are becoming the british and their empire didnt fall in a day red. People in the old british empire talked about how great things still were right up until the point they are insignificant now.

It didnt happen in a day but little by little they diminished.

That is where i see this country and it has already started happenning. I am Proud to be an American and i thank God every day we have people in this country willing to die for what they believe in.

The fed is keeping interest rates low because at the rate we are borrowing ( Printing Money into the economy ) if interest rates go up we will be Greece before long. Inflation will cripple us. Our interest payments wont be manageable.

Is 16 trillion in debt not enough. When is the last time we paid down our debt. We didnt do it when we had surpluses under clinton we just spent more.

No our country is in trouble and i want to address the reasons it is.

OMG the sky is falling red but some people are too stupid to put a plan together to stop it.

Will it fall in a day. No.

    God has started over before.

I know i am overreacting and i will be long gone by the time our country is insignificant or maybe it will just take 4 years more of Obama or Romney to finish us off.

Steel? It was made out of plastic. Always has been. I wuz there. But I know what you are saying, the one they make today is half the size of the original.

The point being that there are still American items for sale. Lots of them. But there have been changes. America is no longer an economy based on manufacturing jobs, that was the 20th century paradigm. Developing countries have taken on more of that role (not all of it) while we have moved on to an economy based on knowledge jobs. Those high-paying blue-collar jobs lost overseas will not be coming back. Americans are increasingly going to need college educations to work the technology jobs that there are plenty of openings for. Else they will have to work in the service industries for lower wages. Manufacturing will be increasing robotic, but that is true overseas as well. Manufacturing industries that have successfully automated can compete with cheap foreign labor because of low shipping costs domestically.

Something tells me you are not. :D

No, I think we'll have to discuss it now.

Of course. It has always been so.

Of course. You speak as if we were Haiti.

We are not and have never been Greece. Interest rates will go up in time and the sky will not fall.

The last time we paid down our debt was FY 2000 under Clinton. The last time we paid off our national debt was 1836. Andrew Jackson was President. And we've done pretty well in all that time.

That is fine, America always has problems. I want to address the many reasons that nobody needs to panic.

We will be strong for many generations. In time all empires fall and so will ours. Britannia and Rome lasted for 1000 years. We have 750 years to go.

I think we will last longer if we have more political parties.
