I've said numerous times in other threads that the big question mark with Saban is whether he can maintain a high-level program after turning it around, because honestly, he's never stuck around at any one school to know the answer for sure. In that regard, the 2004 season doesn't bode well for his ability to keep a program going at a SECCG-caliber level. On the other hand, it could have also had to do with the Dolphins' not-so-secret courtship, capped off by his oh-so-well-timed announcement the week of the Cap One Bowl.

What I said referred to how things stand NOW, as in right this moment. The wheels could fall off Bama's season yet. It wouldn't be the first inexplicable Saban loss. We may yet turn our team around and be very dangerous at the end of the year, like the '06 season. All I'm doing is putting myself in the position of the Saban apologists in our camp (and they are many) and acknowledging reality. If you think that's "bowing down and kissing Saban's a$$", so be it.

I'm sure you were leading the charge in the "Giver Archer a Break" camp.

The last thing we need is to go through another coaching search and hire, then we are looking at least one lost season for the new coach to get acclimated.

Let's at least see how this season plays out. If the offense begins to improve, we'll be solid by years end.

This looks like 2004. JaMarcus Russell, Marcus Randle and the offense struggling, and us winning games by squeeking by teams we had much more talent than. That team went 9-3 and could have easily been 7-5. The difference? I guess we had more confidence in the HC.

You guys are a bunch of Tiger fans pulled to a Tiger website. As a rule you are thinking things through and have thoughtful post. On the street and at the job that rule does not hold.

I can't talk the Tigers at work this week. The Hate for Miles runs deep. He is not a liked coach even when winning. Not sure why but stupid and bad seem to be constants with him.

I just try to control myself but I just don't get it. Even if we win the next 3 which includes going to Bama and winning that fact will not change.

I wear my LSU hat and drive my LSU truck and come home to my LSU front yard and post on my LSU website.!!!

I guess I am a Tiger homer and Love it!!!

TigerCliff: and the superior team won all those games!!!

TigerCliff, if you can't do better than take one part of one sentence from a paragraph written in attempts to dispute a fan who is capable of a complete thought you should go back to the the 8th grade and complete the last 5 years of school you failed to. WE ARE 109 OF 120 NATIONALLY AND HAVE PLAYED ONLY ONE TEAM SO FAR THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE SAME FIELD TALENT WISE. WE HAVE HAD PROBLEMS BOTH OFFENSIVELY AND DEFENSIVELY AGAINST ALL OF THEM (FORGET THE FINAL SCORE WITH ULL, WE DID NOT STATISTICALLY OVERWHELM THEM EITHER). IF OUR TEAM DOESN'T START PLAYING CLOSER TO ITS CAPABILITIES WE COULD VERY WELL HAVE A 4-5 LOSE SEASON. And again, because you forgot from my earlier message, we are only starting the meat of our schedule. I believe most would agree that Auburn, Arkansas, Alabama, Ole Miss are all better than anyone we've played except maybe Florida.
We are all on the same team partner. If you're satisfied with how we've performed up to now then you've drank the koolaid. Time of reckoning is coming. I hope things do change and we let our playmakers make plays.

Last year was like 2004, the hangover after the NC. This year is more like 2005, the hangover after the hangover.

I have lost faith in Miles I am sorry to say. I was late on the bandwagon, defended him last season, and am now back in the doubting crowd. I don't feel like we are performing at the level of a NC contender and I am frustrated with Miles.

I do like the attitude this thread is trying to convey. I'm sorry for littering it with criticism. I'll be very excited at the possibilities come Auburn.

    Hey Rock

Like it or not we are 5/1! I know that is not what you want because you are part of the group that thinks we are 3/3!

We did deserve to win the the close games and its CLM fault!

At 57 I would love to go back to the 8th grade! We are the better team 5 out of 6 teams we played so what is the problem with my paste?

You can hate on CLM all you want but don't pull me into it.

We go 10/2 this year I would take that as a improvement on 2008 and set us up for a run in 10!!!

Enjoy your 1 or 2 good teams every 6 years and have a blast the other 4 years. I enjoy each year and roll with the team through the ups and downs!

Wow, I guess you cant be a fan of LSU and expect THE BEST out your 4mil/yr coach?

Just because some of us are critical of him doesnt mean we want him gone, he can be great, I am just not understanding his thought processes. I do not get paid 4mil/yr to coach a team, hell my fantasy team is the crappiest in my league. But I can see we need to do something different on O. I dont know what, but this isnt working so great. We are running our D ragged. We are in the hardest part of our schedule and hope CLM figures this out. We cant leave our D out there against Assburn's offense and expect to not get scored on. That is unrealistic. I have said this a million times, I am not CLM's biggest fan as a coach, but as a man he is wonderful. There is nothing I would want more than for him to be here 20yrs winning 8+ every year, except the occasional glitches, maybe a shot at another couple balls because he will never do anything to disgrace the program. For that reason he was the best pick post satan, but he needs to step his game up a bit. I am sorry RP is gone, we got to give these kids a chance to win the game. Wish I knew football better and could give advice, but I havent played in 20 yrs and wasnt all that great then. I cheered for LSU when they sucked, as we all did, and will cheer for them no matter what happens, but I do want the best from the coaches, and I dont thnk we are getting that right now.
