I actually LIKE Oregon's uniforms

Yeah, me too I always love the Duck uniforms.

 

Love that combo. Carbon fiber silver helmets it looks like. I guess a green O might not stand out as much against the dark background of the helmet. Can't wait to play ya'll in September. May the best team win.

i don't get the talk about having "always" loved the Duck uniforms. which uniforms are we talking about? the Ducks have worn at least 19 different uniforms in the last two years alone:

green/white/green (Arizona State 2010, UCLA 2009)
green/white/white (Tennessee 2010, Stanford 2009)
green/white/black (Arizona 2009)
green/green/green (Stanford 2010, Purdue 2009)
green/green/black (USC 2009)
green/green/gray (Arizona 2010)
white/green/white (Rose Bowl vs Ohio State 2009)
white/green/gray (Utah 2009)
white/white/green (Cal 2010)
white/white/white (USC 2010, Boise State 2009)
black/white/black (Washington 2009, Wash St 2010)
black/black/gray (New Mexico 2010)
black/yellow/black (UCLA 2010, Wash St 2009)
black/black/black (Arizona State 2009, Washington 2010)
yellow/green/white (Oregon State 2009)

of those 19 uniforms, i've always loved the yellow/green/yellow, which was the only home uniform the Ducks wore in the 70's, 80's, and 90's (except i like the new Oakley "O" on the helmet better than the old interlocking "UO" and i like them better without the Green Bay Packer striping that they had for a while). i've always loved uniforms with yellow helmets and yellow pants (Green Bay Packers, Arizona State Sun Devils, Pitt Panthers up until the mid-1990s, Oregon Ducks up until around 2000, etc).

Since WW2, the Ducks had only gone to two Rose Bowls: 1958 (vs Ohio St) and 1995 (vs Penn St). in both of those Rose bowls, the Ducks wore the yellow/green/yellow uniforms that i've always loved. so when the Ducks went to the 2010 Rose Bowl vs Ohio St (a rematch of the 1958 Rose Bowl), i was disappointed that the Ducks came out in the white/green/white instead of the yellow/green/yellow uniforms i expected them to wear

as for the rest of the 19 uniforms the Ducks have worn in the last two years, the other ones i liked were the white/white/white, black/black/black, green/green/gray, and the special gray/white/gray ones they wore in the 2010 Civil War game, pictured here:



for last year's BCS Title game, i think it would have been cool if they if they had wore something like this uniform pictured above, but with Olympic Gold instead of silver (Gold numbers, Gold wings on the shoulders, and either Gold or white pants, and a Gold or white helmet (if white, with a Gold "O")

instead, the Ducks came out in one of the ugliest uniforms i've ever seen a team wear: gray helmets with fluorescent yellow "O", charcoal undershirts with fluorescent yellow trimming, charcoal pants with a big gray stripe, and those hideous fluorescent yellow socks





of course from 2006-2008 (when they had 1st-Round pick RB Jonathan Stewart), the Ducks wore the infamous "tire track" base design (in a variety of different helmet colors, jersey colors, pants colors), which i think the new, simpler uniforms are an improvement over

and from about 2000-2005, the Ducks only wore the green helmets with the yellow "O" (which i like)..

from about 2003-2005, the teams led by 2nd Round-pick QB Kellen Clemens looked like this:






and from about 2000-2003, the teams led by 1st Round-pick QB Joey Harrington had the thick double-racing stripe going from the armpit all the way down to the knee, as well black pants and a black jersey with green shoulders to match the green helmet:





before that (up until about 1999), Oregon wore the "throwback" uniform that were pictured on the first page of this thread, including the teams led by QB Akili Smith (taken in the 1st Round of the 1999 Draft)

If they keep changing their uniforms, then it does away with all the grumbling we get when there's a small change in our uniform.
