These are the things I ponder, seriously... 1. Is it better to go to the NCG and lose, or to go to another BCS bowl and win? (this question is asked "after the fact" of the loss, so don't say it was better to go because you might have won). For example, last year. Would you rather have the Sugarbowl win and finish number 3, or have lost in the BCSCG and finished ranked lower? 2. How many SEC championships are worth one BCSNC? My answers: 1. It is better to win. Period. Losing sux! I will take the BCS bowl win over the loss in the BCSCG. History loves winners. 2. This is tough. I would go with 7...I think.
1. I rather win another BCS game, b/c once the season ends, next season begins, and history suggest that teams that end the year well, start well in the 1st poll, which is very important 2. A bunch.
It was said "Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all", wisdom indeed. 1, at least in the past two years. They go hand-in-hand  :tigereye:
In as much as the BCS is concerned "just win baby"!!! The SEC things kinda hard to judge...I'll go along with "71"'s answer, they have been going hand in hand. If I'd have to put money on it, I'd bet theres gonna be another SEC school in the big dance next year. It may or may not be us, but if not, I can count at least 3 to 4 others with a legit shot! :tigereye::tigereye::tigereye::tigereye:
Florida, Georgia, ...... who else do you think really has a legit shot at the title next year? aubie maybe:huh: bama:insane:
For perception of the program I guess you're better off not getting to the BCS Championship game if you're gonna lose. OSU gets there 2 years in a row and everybody thinks they're a bunch of chumps. That's just wrong.
You don't have a chance in hell of winning the :crystal: if you don't play in the game (except for USC maybe) so i'll take the loss. Most of the time no body remembers who finished second anyway. Although as SF posted tOSU is getting crucified for making it two years in a row and losing.
I may be the only one not overly impressed by Georgia, even in their win streak at the end of the year. The only impresssive with in the streak was Auburn. So far, I'm not buying into the Georgia hype. I can't see that they have proven it. Frankly, they weren't all that great against Hawaii. LA Tech racked up 44 points on Hawaii this season. I have seen them a couple of times this year. I know they are young. Still...Not on the Georgia bandwagon. Richt got the media fawning with his "stunts" this year. Otherwise, Moreno is quite good, defense looks decent. They should be good. I just think LSU could smoke'em next year. To answer your question directly. LSU and Florida. I really believe we have another shot at the :crystal: . Geaux :milesmic:
I AM NOT SURE I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU JUST ASKED , BUT I WOULD THE SUGARBOWL , AND THE SEC IS SO HAD TO WIN AFTER WINNING THE SEC WHAT ELSE IS THERE . JUST LOOK AT THE BCS , TENNESSEE WAS A MUCH BETTER GAME TO WATCH. MY QUESTION > DOES USC WANT TO PLAY 6 SEC TEAMS NEXT YEAR ? DOES OHIO STATE REALLY WANT TO PLAY 6 SEC TEAMS NEXT YEAR ? IF IT GETS RIGHT DOWN TO IT I WILL TAKE THE SEC AND THE SUGAR BOWL , AND MAKE THE STATEMENT LIKE THE GEORGIA TEAMS COACH "MY TEAM SHOULD BE IN THE NCCG, LOL " WE WILL SEE HOW GOOD HIS GEORGIA TEAM IS THIS YEAR . THERE IS A 12TH MAN WORKING HIS GAMES . GEORGIA WILL LOSE 3 GAMES THIS COMING SEASON . FLORIDA WILL LOSE 2 GAMES TENNESSEE WILL WIN THE EAST . LSU IT DEPENDS ON THE QUARTERBACK AS TO HOW MANY GAMES WE WIN OR LOSE. HE IS KEY .IT IS NOT JUST HIM BUT HE WILL BE THE SPARK. The 2002 Tigers endured one of the biggest roller-coaster seasons in recent memory, winning six straight games after a season opening loss at Virginia Tech to move into the Top 10, but three losses in the final five regular season games, combined with the "Bluegrass Miracle"--Marcus Randall's 75-yard touchdown pass to Devery Henderson on the final play of the Tigers' 33-30 win at Kentucky--kept LSU out of the SEC Championship Game. A 35-20 loss to Texas in the Cotton Bowl left the Tigers out of the final 2002 polls and heading into the 2003 season looking for redemption.
If rankings are all that is important to you, then obviously you want to win the last game. Along that line of thinking, it was certainly better to be Georgia, USC, or West Virginia this year than Ohio State. My opinion, though, is that if you're not the champs, who cares if you finish #2 or #5? In a few years, people around the country will remember that we were #1. Only Georgia fans will remember that they were #2. I would bet most fans around the country have already forgotten that we finished #3 last season. Now someone in another answer pointed out that Ohio State looks like chumps now after losing 2 years in a row. But I believe that's more of a reflection of how they lost (and I personally feel the beating we put on them was worse than the final score indicated). In order to lose 2 :crystal: :crystal: in a row, you have to get to the game first.
